The Shipwreck Region contains five Crystal Skulls, one on each of its five puzzle islands. Solve an island’s objective to reveal its green Shipwrecked Chest, take the skull to that island’s red pedestal, and defeat Skeleton waves until the charge reaches 100 percent. Every fully charged skull shuts down one green-beam lighthouse. When all five lighthouses are dark, the central force field disappears and the Lich King becomes accessible.
The region is procedurally generated: island positions, puzzle details and even the region’s appearance can vary between runs. Use the landmarks and procedures below rather than relying on a fixed map.

How to recognize the Shipwreck Region
Sail until you find a large force field in the water with green lighthouse beams converging on it. Five separate Shipwreck islands surround the barrier. Each island has one lighthouse, one puzzle and one Crystal Skull chest. The arrangement is not tied to a permanent compass direction, so screenshots or coordinates from another run may not match yours.

If you have explored extensively without seeing the five-island formation, the absence is probably procedural rather than a missed interaction. A restart is the practical solution; there is no puzzle trigger that can create the event inside a run where it failed to spawn.

What has to be completed
- Locate the five-island formation and central force field.
- Complete one different island objective on each island.
- Open the resulting green Shipwrecked Chest and collect its Crystal Skull.
- Place that skull on the island’s red pedestal.
- Defeat the Skeleton waves until the skull displays 100 percent charge.
- Repeat for all five islands, then sail to the central island and enter the boss area.
A puzzle is not finished merely because you have found its landmark. The lighthouse remains active until its island’s skull has been placed and fully charged.

Flag-raising island
Locate every lowered flag
Search the island perimeter and interior for flags with a red glow. The objective counts flags individually, so finding one does not identify the position of the others. Walk the whole island rather than stopping after the first few interactions.
Raise them and handle spawns
Use the interaction prompt on each lowered flag. Skeletons may spawn as the objective progresses, so clear a safe area before interacting or be ready to interrupt the sequence and fight. If the objective does not complete, look for a flag hidden behind terrain, a wreck or a building instead of assuming the event is bugged.
When the final flag is raised, the green Shipwrecked Chest becomes available. Open it, take the Crystal Skull and leave the island only after noting the red pedestal, which is the charging point for this skull.

Red-cross mound island
Bring a shovel
This island is identified by soil mounds marked with red crosses. A shovel is required; an empty-handed interaction will not substitute for digging. Marked mounds can be spread out, so circle the island and inspect every visible cross.
Test mounds until the chest appears
Dig each marked mound and inspect the result. The correct mound is not fixed between runs, and digging the wrong one may trigger enemies. Keep moving or defeat the attackers before returning to the next cross. Continue until the green Shipwrecked Chest is revealed, then collect the skull.
Do not treat the first excavated mound as a guaranteed location. Procedural variation is the reason a route that worked in a previous run can fail here.

Wrecked-boat lantern island
Search the vegetation
The lantern puzzle is easiest to identify by dense vegetation and several wrecked boats. Green lanterns are placed in or around the boats. Check both sides of each hull and the spaces between wrecks; a lantern can be visually obscured by foliage or debris.

Extinguish all green lanterns
Interact with every green lantern until it is out. The chest is not necessarily visible after the first lantern, because the island checks the complete set. After the final lantern is extinguished, the green Shipwrecked Chest is revealed. Collect its skull before beginning the charging encounter.
If the objective remains active, retrace the shoreline and inspect boats from a different angle. A missed lantern is more common than a failed interaction.
Grave-symbol and geometric-door island
Read the door first
Find the locked geometric door and inspect the symbols displayed on it. Nearby graves carry matching geometric marks. The required order is randomized for each run, so memorizing a sequence from another attempt is unreliable.

Use the door as your reference and activate the grave bearing the first matching symbol, followed by the next, until the entire sequence has been entered. If the door does not open, stop and reread the symbol order rather than activating graves at random; an incorrect sequence can force you to start the pattern again.

A correct sequence opens the door to the green Shipwrecked Chest. Take the skull and proceed to the red pedestal on the same island.
Ship-cannon island
Identify valid targets
Locate the cannon and scan the surrounding water for ships carrying the puzzle’s target markings. Valid targets use red-and-white markings or circular target symbols. Ordinary ships are not substitutes for marked ships, so firing at unmarked vessels does not advance the objective.
Destroy every marked ship
Operate the cannon and fire until each marked ship has been destroyed. Track which targets you have hit so that a distant vessel is not overlooked. When the final marked ship is destroyed, the green Shipwrecked Chest appears near one of those ships. Sail or swim to it, collect the skull and return to the island pedestal.
If no chest is visible, search around the destroyed marked ships rather than the cannon platform; the spawn point is tied to the target area.

How to charge a Crystal Skull to 100 percent
Place it on the red pedestal
Each skull belongs to the island where its chest was found. Carry it to that island’s red pedestal and interact with the pedestal to start the charge. Leaving a skull in a chest or carrying it to another island does not disable a lighthouse.
Survive the Skeleton waves
Skeleton waves spawn once charging begins. Defeat them near the pedestal so their souls feed into the skull. Watch the on-screen percentage rather than assuming a fixed number of waves; continue fighting until the display reaches exactly 100 percent.
Confirm the lighthouse shutdown
At full charge, that island’s lighthouse goes dark and its green beam disappears. This visual change is the reliable confirmation that the skull counted. If the beam remains active, check that the skull reached 100 percent and that you used the correct island pedestal.

Because island locations and puzzle details vary, the most efficient route is based on preparation rather than a fixed order.
- Before landing, clear nearby threats and make sure you can carry a shovel for the mound island.
- Identify all five landmarks from the water: flags, red-cross mounds, wrecked boats, graves and cannon targets.
- Complete the puzzle with the least travel first, then open its chest immediately so you do not have to relocate it later.
- Charge each skull on the same island where you found it. This keeps the pedestal and lighthouse confirmation in view.
- During every charging fight, leave room to circle the pedestal and avoid being trapped against rocks, boats or structures.
- After each lighthouse goes dark, use the missing beam to count progress. Five dark lighthouses are required before visiting the center.
Common problems and fixes
- No force field or five-island ring: The Shipwreck Region may not have spawned in this run. Restart and search again rather than spending time looking for an invisible trigger.
- A puzzle will not complete: Recheck the entire island for one missed flag, lantern, grave symbol or marked ship. These objectives require every item in their set.
- The mound search feels random: The correct red-cross mound can change between runs. Dig the marked mounds systematically with a shovel.
- The grave door stays locked: Symbols and order are randomized. Read the geometric door again and activate the matching graves in that exact sequence.
- The cannon objective is stuck: Scan farther out for a marked ship and distinguish red-and-white or circular target markings from ordinary vessels.
- The skull is not charging: Confirm it was placed on the red pedestal, then defeat the Skeletons until the percentage advances. A partial charge does not disable the lighthouse.
- Four lighthouses are dark but the barrier remains: One skull is still below 100 percent or one beam is hidden by your camera angle. Verify all five islands before returning to the center.
Entering the Lich King area
Once the fifth skull reaches full charge, the game displays the alert: “THE FORCEFIELD IS LIFTED, THE LICH KING AWAITS…” The central barrier is then open, allowing access to the central island and the Lich King encounter.
Available walkthroughs associate the victory reward with the Necromancer Staff. Reported Lich King health totals are inconsistent, so no single HP number should be used for planning. Prepare for the fight based on your current equipment and survivability rather than a claimed fixed total.
