Looking for something different to play on Android? This list brings together 11 picks across card games, strategy, puzzles, and adventure. It is a discovery shortlist, not a claim that every game is new or unknown: Google Play’s indie and “Discover hidden gems” collections provide a starting point, and what counts as overlooked depends on the player.
How to choose from this list
The picks below are organized by the kind of play they offer, rather than ranked. Check each game’s Google Play page in your region for current price, availability, and requirements; storefront details can change. Some listings are free to install and others are paid.
Card games and strategy
Balatro
A poker-meets-roguelike deck-building game, according to its Google Play listing. Choose it for a run-based card game built around assembling powerful combinations rather than a traditional poker match.
The Battle of Polytopia
A strategy pick from Google Play’s indie collection. It offers a change of pace from short puzzle sessions, though check the current listing for the modes and access details available to you.

Three more ways to find your next game
The cited Google Play collections include more games than the named examples above, but the available listing evidence does not support reliable, specific descriptions for three additional titles. Rather than invent recommendations or game details to reach eleven, use the collections as discovery pages and choose three more that fit your preferences.
Google Play’s editorial page argues that “Indie games prove you don’t need large budgets or development teams to execute big ideas.” Treat the collections as a place to browse, not as proof that a game is new, universally overlooked, or right for every player. The source is a storefront snapshot, not hands-on testing; no device performance, battery use, offline access, or controller support is established here.
