Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe best free GeoGuessr alternative depends on what you want to guess: WorldGuessr and OpenGuessr are the closest browser-based Street View substitutes, while City Guesser uses video, TimeGuessr adds historical dates, and Seterra turns geography into map quizzes. Free access can still come with ads, daily limits, or feature restrictions, so compare the format and access rules before choosing.
Which free GeoGuessr alternative is closest to the original?
For the familiar loop of studying a real-world image and pinpointing its location, start with WorldGuessr or OpenGuessr. WorldGuessr offers several play modes, including multiplayer and community maps. Its About page describes it as a separate game made by an independent developer, not affiliated with GeoGuessr, and says its rounds use Google Street View imagery: WorldGuessr About.
OpenGuessr is another close match if you want casual guest play. Its official start page advertises unlimited free play without an account, alongside multiplayer, duels, and competitions. Those are the provider’s stated features, and access terms can change: OpenGuessr.
For comparison, the roundup describes GeoGuessr’s free tier as a Daily Challenge of five locations refreshed each day, with multiplayer, parties, global exploration, and custom content presented as subscription features. That is a time-sensitive description, not a guarantee of permanent plan terms. The alternatives below are not all Street View clones: several change the imagery or the type of geography skill involved.

How do the 12 alternatives compare?
| Alternative | Format and best fit | Free-play or access caveat reported |

| OpenGuessr | Street View-style guest play with casual rounds and online multiplayer options. | Ads are reported. The roundup describes it as primarily a browser game without a native app. The official site advertises unlimited free play without an account. |
| Geotastic | Multiple formats, challenges, custom games, and small-group play. | An account is required; the roundup says free sessions require an ad. Details may change. |
| GeoHub | Country streaks, a daily challenge, and invite games. | Ordinary free play has a daily limit. A personal Google API key is not anonymous unlimited free access and may involve usage costs. |

| WorldleDaily | No-login daily and configurable pinpoint formats, plus streaks. | The roundup describes free play as ad-supported and reports a paid ad-removal option; check current terms. |
| City Guesser | Video-based city guessing for players who prefer travel footage. | You cannot freely move through a panorama, and the clues depend on the clip. |

| TimeGuessr | Historical photographs; estimate both the location and the year. | Guest play is reported. Photos without distinctive signs or objects can make clues ambiguous. |
| FreeGuessr | Street View-style play with levels, XP, leaderboards, Arena, Duel, and party formats. | Ads are reported; current free-play and account details are not fully documented in the roundup. |
| Where Am I / MobileGuessr | Phone-oriented street-walk video guessing on iOS and Android. | The roundup reports a free download supported by advertising and optional purchases. |
| Seterra | Structured country, capital, flag, and physical-geography map quizzes. | It is a map-quiz format, not a direct Street View replacement. |
The comparison reflects the roundup’s descriptions; it does not establish that every service’s current sign-up flow, free limit, or availability is unchanged.

No. Only some follow the familiar panorama-based location-guessing format. Others use video, old photographs, or conventional quizzes, which changes what you observe and what you have to infer.
