The highest-rated goalkeepers in EA Sports FC 25 are Gianluigi Donnarumma, Alisson, Thibaut Courtois and Marc-André ter Stegen, all listed at 89 overall in FIFPlay’s FC 25 database. This ranking uses published overall ratings (OVR), not match testing: other databases can differ, and a shared 86 rating means the final entry is a tie rather than a unique 12th-place pick.
How this FC 25 goalkeeper ranking works
The ranking follows FIFPlay’s FC 25 goalkeeper list and orders players by the OVR it publishes. OVR is a database rating, not evidence that one goalkeeper will perform better than another in a particular match, formation or game mode. The list does not compare card versions, prices, chemistry links or current Ultimate Team market availability.

Ratings can vary by database: FIFA Index lists Courtois and Alisson at 89 but gives ter Stegen 88, rather than FIFPlay’s 89. The entries below consistently use FIFPlay’s figures instead of combining sources. FIFPlay’s FC 25 goalkeeper ratings; FIFA Index’s FC 25 goalkeeper ratings.

The headline’s “12” refers to the first 12 entries in FIFPlay’s ordered list. The 86-rated cutoff is a three-way tie, so all three goalkeepers at that rating are shown; the table therefore contains 14 names. Each rating is attributed to the FC 25 database, not presented as a real-world performance statistic.

What the ratings do—and do not—tell you
Four goalkeepers share the top OVR
Donnarumma, Alisson, Courtois and ter Stegen are level at 89 in FIFPlay’s list. Since this source gives them the same overall rating, it does not support separating them into distinct performance tiers. Choose among them based on your squad and tactical preferences rather than treating the order in the list as proof of an advantage.
Role labels provide context, not a performance verdict
WeFUT describes the FC 25 Goalkeeper+ role as “A traditional goalkeeper who stays on their line, and focuses on shot-stopping.” That explains the role’s intended focus; it does not establish that a named player is better at stopping shots or more effective in matches. How to use this list when choosing a goalkeeper
- For a quick rating comparison: Use the table as an OVR snapshot from one database, and keep the 89, 88, 87 and 86 tiers distinct from any personal gameplay judgment.
- For a tactical choice: Consider the role and instructions you want, then assess the player in your own formation. The role description alone cannot predict match results.
- For Ultimate Team: Confirm the exact item and mode you plan to use. This ranking does not identify card versions, chemistry links, prices or live market status.
- When checking another ratings site: Expect possible differences and compare its entries consistently rather than mixing a rating from one database with ranks from another.
