Its own article lists only 11 games and says that Lethal Company cost $9.99, so it does not establish that all the titles were free. Their current availability and prices have not been verified; check each title’s Steam store page before downloading.
What did the 2023 article actually claim?
Tech Times described the games as “12 new free game demos,” attributing the list to Gaming Bible. That is the article’s claim, not a statement from Valve. Its body contains headings for 11 titles: Football Manager 2024, Perry the Pumpkin, The Editor, Spring Dash, Polygon of Reality, 鸡械绿洲, Alchemy Deck, Test Lab Inc., Lost for Swords, Psy in the Apocalypse, and Lethal Company. The headline and introduction say 12, but the visible list falls one short. Read the Tech Times article.

Were all the games free?
No. The same Tech Times article says Lethal Company “will only cost you $9.99,” contradicting its broad free framing. That price is what the 2023 article reported; it is not confirmation of the game’s current price. The article does not establish present-day pricing or download status for the other titles either.
How to check what is free on Steam now
Steam’s catalog changes, so treat the 2023 list as a historical set of examples rather than a current download guide. Steam Support directs players to the Steam Store’s free-to-play catalog for free-to-play games: Steam Support: Free to play games on Steam. For any specific title, open its live Steam store page and check the displayed price and whether it is listed as a demo or a complete free-to-play game before downloading. Browse the Steam storefront.
