What should you play together on PC? These 12 co-op games cover two-player stories, RPG campaigns, mission-based shooters, horror, sandbox building, and relaxed farming. The best fit depends on how many people are joining, whether you need online or same-room play, and whether your group wants a structured adventure or a world to make its own.
Player counts and modes below are reported by GamesRadar+’s July 15, 2026 co-op guide; features can vary by platform and setup, so check the specific PC listing before buying or planning a local session.

Best two-player story adventures
It Takes Two
Choose It Takes Two if you want a game designed around exactly two people working together. Its story adventure keeps changing its platforming and cooperative mechanics, making it a stronger pick for a duo that wants to coordinate rather than simply play side by side. GamesRadar lists both local and online PC co-op. It also reports that Friend Pass lets an online friend join with one copy; check the current PC and account requirements before relying on that arrangement.

GamesRadar lists online co-op for two to four players and local two-player split-screen. It is the most campaign-shaped choice here: a better match for friends who want to make decisions together than for a quick drop-in session.
Diablo 4
Diablo 4 is an action RPG for friends who would rather focus on fighting and improving their characters than on a dialogue-heavy shared story. GamesRadar lists up to four online players and two local players. For building, climbing, or taking it easy
Minecraft
Minecraft works for groups that want to build, explore, or invent their own objectives instead of following a fixed campaign. GamesRadar lists PC and up to eight online players, and also reports local play. Because the guide does not establish a specific PC local configuration, confirm what your setup supports before arranging a same-room session.
Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley offers a lower-pressure way to play together: divide farm tasks, develop the town, or let each person choose their own activity. GamesRadar lists online and local play and up to eight players on PC. It suits a group that wants a slower pace more than constant combat or high-stakes coordination.
Peak
Peak is an online climbing adventure for up to four players, as listed by GamesRadar. Its compact, teamwork-focused challenge is a good fit when your group wants a shared objective without committing to a long role-playing campaign.
Quick Recap
How to choose for your next session
- Two friends and a shared story: choose It Takes Two, Split Fiction, or A Way Out.
- A bigger group and a long campaign: consider Baldur’s Gate 3; for action and progression, consider Diablo 4.
- Remote mission play: Helldivers 2 and Deep Rock Galactic are shooter picks; Lethal Company adds horror.
- Freedom to set your own pace: choose Minecraft for building or Stardew Valley for farming and town life.
- Same room or online: match the mode to where your friends are. For local play, especially on PC, confirm the title’s current requirements rather than assuming every listed platform has the same setup.
