The best game to play with friends depends on what your group wants: a quick party game, a co-op mission, a competitive match, or an open-ended world to explore. This 2026 selection includes all of those, but it is not a scored ranking. Before settling on a title, check who owns it, how many people can join the specific mode, and whether everyone is up for the same kind of play.
How to choose a game your whole group can play
- Start with platforms. Check every player’s device, game edition, and the title’s current cross-play support before buying or scheduling. Mario Kart World is listed for Nintendo Switch 2, so it is not a universal pick for a mixed-platform group. Beebom’s 2026 list
- Match the format to the group. A two-player adventure, a social deduction game, a co-op shooter, and a party prompt game solve different problems. Decide whether you want to cooperate, compete, or simply laugh at one another’s answers.
- Check the exact player limit. Limits can differ by mode or by game inside a bundle. Among Us’ Xbox listing supports 4–15 players online or over local Wi-Fi. The first Jackbox Party Pack contains five games whose listed player counts range from 1 to 100; that is the range across the pack, not a capacity shared by every game. Xbox · Jackbox Games
- Agree on time and spending. The first Jackbox Party Pack lists games in a 15–20 minute range, while sandbox and live-service games do not have the same fixed session shape. Roblox is free to explore, but some experiences require payment; Fortnite is listed as free, which does not settle potential in-game spending or platform online-play costs. Check the current storefront and requirements for your region and device. Jackbox Games · Beebom
15 games to play with friends in 2026
The order below follows Beebom’s April 13, 2026 selection, not a measured ranking. Use the descriptions to find a fit for your group rather than treating the first entry as the universal winner. Beebom’s list
1. Roblox — variety through community-made experiences
Roblox is a platform of user-created experiences, so it can suit friends who want to browse different activities instead of committing to one fixed game. It is free to explore, but some experiences require payment; check the particular experience before inviting the group.
2. Minecraft — build and explore together
Minecraft works well for friends who prefer an open-ended shared project or survival world. The official Minecraft page describes parties, private Realms servers, and couch co-op on console Bedrock. These are distinct ways to connect, and Java and Bedrock Realms should not be treated as interchangeable. Minecraft says a party can include up to 14 friends. Jackbox can be useful when friends want party prompts or drawing rather than a conventional multiplayer match. Player capacity is game-specific: the official first Party Pack page lists five titles ranging from 1 to 100 players, and Jackbox says many games also allow an audience. Its support author Evan Jacover notes, “Player counts vary from game to game.” Check the individual game before choosing it for a large gathering. The Jackbox Party Pack · Jackbox player-count guide
