This is an informed shortlist of 15 options drawn from early-cycle base cards and late-cycle special cards; it is not a controlled ranking of match performance. The late-cycle ratings and coin prices below come from Charlie INTEL’s guide updated August 30, 2024, so treat its prices as historical rather than current market quotes.
How to use this FC 24 striker shortlist
This guide is about Ultimate Team cards, not Career Mode recruitment. It separates two points in FC 24’s cycle: early-game base cards and the late-cycle special cards available in 2024. Those markets are not directly comparable. EA’s launch ratings identify highly rated players, but do not establish which Ultimate Team card performs best in a particular squad. EA’s FC 24 page provides official game context; it is not a meta ranking.

Charlie INTEL’s named cards and ratings are useful candidates, not proof that one striker wins for every player. Overall rating is only one input. Compare the exact card’s pace, shooting, dribbling, playstyles, body and acceleration profile, skill moves, weak foot, and the chemistry links it offers. FUTBIN’s FC 24 database lets you inspect card-level attributes, but it is dynamic: check the precise version you intend to use rather than assuming a displayed value is permanent.
Late-cycle special-card shortlist
These ten candidates come from Charlie INTEL’s late-cycle meta list, updated August 30, 2024. The source names their card versions and overall ratings, but the list below does not imply a tested order or provide comparable price quotes for every card.

| Alex Morgan | FUTTIES | 99 | A high-rated women’s card to evaluate alongside the links available in your squad. |
| Wayne Rooney | Greats of the Game Icon | 97 | A late-cycle Icon option; judge the individual card rather than its overall alone. |
| Ronaldo Nazário | Greats of the Game Icon | 98 | A high-rated Icon candidate whose exact attributes should be checked against your preferred striker role. |
| Antoine Griezmann | UEFA Euro Path to Glory | 97 | Consider the card if its attributes and chemistry links complement your front line. |

These figures show why “cheap” needs a time qualifier in a live Ultimate Team market: even a strong historical bargain may have moved, become unavailable, or no longer suit the player’s budget. Use the table to identify candidates from that 2024 snapshot, then check the current in-game market for the exact card and compare it with alternatives.
Early-cycle base-card alternatives
End-of-cycle FUTTIES and Icon cards answer a different question from the affordable base cards players could use early in FC 24. GamesRadar+ reported Randal Kolo Muani as an early-cycle meta option: his base card had 91 Pace and the Finesse Shot, Technical, Flair, and Quick Step PlayStyles. The page’s year is not specified in the retrieved material, so its 2,700-coin figure should be treated as an early-cycle report, not a current price.

- HyperMotionV captures the game as it’s truly played, using volumetric data from 180+ pro men’s and women’s matches to ensure movement in-game accurately reflects real-world action on the pitch.
- PlayStyles dimensionalize athletes, interpreting data from Opta and other sources into signature abilities which heighten the realism and individuality of each player.
- The revolutionized Frostbite Engine delivers The World’s Game in lifelike detail, bringing a new level of immersion to each match.
GamesRadar+ also listed Angel Correa as an inexpensive early-cycle alternative, reporting 85 Pace, 84 Shooting, 86 Dribbling, and a 750-coin price. Those attributes and the price refer to his base card in that early-cycle context; they should not be compared as if they were late-cycle special-card figures. The source does not provide a current price for either player.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choose by role, not overall rating
- Need a card within a fixed coin budget? Start with the historical price table as a shortlist, then verify today’s price. A past coin figure is not a present-day buying recommendation.
- Want a runner in behind? Compare pace and acceleration on the exact card, along with how its movement and playstyles fit your tactics. The early-cycle Kolo Muani example is notable for 91 Pace and Quick Step, but that does not establish how he compares with late-cycle cards.
- Need a finisher or a link for your squad? Check shooting, weak foot, skill moves, position, and chemistry connections together. A higher overall cannot compensate automatically for a poor fit in your formation or attack.
- Choosing between an Icon, a men’s card, or a women’s card? Treat each as an individual Ultimate Team card. Verify the version and chemistry options in your own squad; the source list does not establish a universal advantage for any card category.
- Comparing two versions of one player? Inspect the specific versions side by side in the database or game. FUTBIN displays card-level details such as positions, pace, shooting, dribbling, skill moves, weak foot, work rates, and body or acceleration profiles, but the page can change over time.
No supplied source establishes a controlled head-to-head ranking of these 15 cards. The defensible approach is to use the shortlist to find candidates, then pick the exact version that fits your budget, tactical role, and chemistry.
