1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor two people sharing one PS4, these 25 games span cooperative adventures, shooters, party games, and competitive racing and sports. The list preserves the recommendations in Fossbytes’ May 2025 guide; it is not an independently verified ranking, and the available official sources do not confirm offline operation for every title. “Local multiplayer” means play on one console, but does not by itself establish that a mode works without an internet connection. Check the specific game edition and mode if offline play is essential.
How to choose a two-player PS4 game
First decide whether you want to work together or compete. Then check how the game presents both players: some use a shared screen, while others use split-screen. Also distinguish a campaign built around cooperation from a game that simply offers a local multiplayer mode. The official PlayStation guide confirms local modes and player counts for some titles, but that label alone is not an offline-play guarantee.

- Co-op or versus: Choose a shared goal for teamwork, or a competitive mode if you want to play against each other.
- Shared screen or split-screen: A shared view keeps both players in one scene; split-screen gives each player a separate view. Confirm the specific mode because a game may handle different modes differently.
- Campaign or quick sessions: Story-driven adventures suit players who want to progress together; party, sports, racing, and arcade games can be easier to pick up for shorter rounds.
- Offline requirement: Verify the exact PS4 edition and mode before relying on internet-free play. The evidence available here does not establish offline support for all 25 selections.
The 25-game lineup

What official PlayStation information confirms
PlayStation’s couch-multiplayer guide verifies local-play details for selected games. These confirmations clarify player counts and modes, but they should not be generalized into offline guarantees for every title or mode.

How to verify offline play before choosing
- Confirm the platform and edition. Check that the listing or disc is specifically for the PS4 version you intend to use.
- Find the exact local mode. Look for couch co-op, local co-op, split-screen, or local versus, depending on what you want to play.
- Check the connection requirement for that mode. A local-player label confirms same-console play, not necessarily that setup, account sign-in, or gameplay works without internet.
- Check player count and screen layout. Confirm the number of local players and whether the view is shared or split-screen for the mode you plan to use.
