There is no official confirmation that 2XKO screen tearing is fully fixed on PS5 or Xbox. Riot’s March 10, 2026, patch 1.1.3 says console screen tearing “has been reduced”—a documented improvement, not a promise that every console or display setup is now free of it. Make sure your game is updated; Xbox players can also try a community-reported display setting, with no guarantee.
What Riot has confirmed
Riot listed console screen tearing among known issues in its January 2026 update, saying it had nothing specific to share at the time and asking affected players to submit a Player Support ticket. In the March 10, 2026, patch 1.1.3 notes, Riot later recorded this bug fix: “Screen tearing on consoles has been reduced.” Read Riot’s patch notes for version 1.1.3 and its January 2026 update.
“Reduced” does not mean eliminated. The official sources do not confirm that tearing is completely resolved on either PS5 or Xbox, distinguish the improvement by console, or give a current console-specific setting that fixes it. They also do not quantify how many players experience the issue or how severe it is.
What to try if you still see tearing
1. Update 2XKO
Install the latest available game update. Riot’s patch notes establish that version 1.1.3 reduced console tearing, but the sources cited here do not establish whether a later patch has eliminated it. Updating is the most substantiated step; it is not a guarantee that your setup will stop tearing.

2. Xbox: consider the community-reported VRR and 120 Hz settings
A community guide suggests trying VRR and 120 Hz on Xbox when the display supports those features. This is an unverified player suggestion, not an official Riot recommendation or a guaranteed fix. The guide does not establish that these settings solve the problem for everyone. See the community guide.
3. PS5: no confirmed console-specific setting is established
The sources cited here do not provide an equivalent confirmed PS5 setting for screen tearing. Do not treat the Xbox community suggestion as a verified PS5 remedy.

4. Report a persistent issue to Riot
Riot’s January 2026 update asked players experiencing known issues—or other problems—to submit a Player Support ticket. That direction predates patch 1.1.3; it is not evidence of a current dedicated workaround. Riot’s update is here.
Does changing the controller help?
Riot lists DualSense for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S controllers for Xbox as supported devices in its supported devices and peripheral troubleshooting guide. It does not identify changing controllers as a screen-tearing remedy. The cited evidence also does not establish that buying a display, console, or cable will reliably fix this game-side issue.

PS5 versus Xbox: what can be concluded
Riot describes the patch 1.1.3 reduction as applying to consoles and does not report separate results for PS5 and Xbox. The only platform-specific workaround claim in the cited sources is the community guide’s Xbox VRR/120 Hz suggestion. That difference in available advice does not show that Xbox is free of tearing or that PS5 cannot improve.
