Hayden Hackney: make midfield the project
Hackney is the clearest fit if you want the save to revolve around building a midfield. FMInside’s Football Manager 2024 player page identifies him as a Middlesbrough player and lists central-midfield playmaker role suitability. Middlesbrough also reported his England Under-21 call-up in November 2024, a real-world marker of his standing at that time—not a measure of his in-game potential. FMInside Middlesbrough FC
A possession-oriented midfield built to get Hackney involved is a tactical idea, not a tested FM24 result. Check his attributes, role suitability and squad status in the database attached to your save, then decide whether the rest of your midfield can support that approach.
Emmanuel Latte Lath: shape an attack around a forward
Latte Lath gives the shortlist its forward-development angle. Sortitoutsi’s FM24 Middlesbrough guide lists him in the squad and among the attacking positions, but its information is third-party and version-dependent. Sortitoutsi

His real-world career provides context, not a forecast of his game output. In a profile dated 15 August 2023, Middlesbrough said he had scored 16 goals and supplied four assists in 34 appearances for St Gallen in the prior year. That record can make him an appealing player to develop in a save, but it does not establish how many goals he will score in FM24. Middlesbrough FC
Isaiah Jones: check the wide option in your database
Jones offers a different route: make wide play part of the save’s identity. Middlesbrough’s November 2024 international roundup names him among players called up for national-team action, supporting his club context. The available evidence does not establish a comparable FM24 rating, best role or development ceiling for him, so verify those in your own database rather than assuming a particular tactical fit. Check the database before you build around anyone
FM24 player attributes, role suitability, valuations and roster status depend on the database version and save-start context. The third-party records for Hackney and Latte Lath are useful starting points, not a guarantee that every save will match them. Middlesbrough announced the permanent signing of Luke Ayling on 27 May 2024, illustrating how real-world squad context can change after a game database is set; that announcement does not by itself establish Ayling’s status in any particular FM24 update. - Open the player profiles in your chosen FM24 database and confirm each player’s club, attributes and available roles.
- Use Hackney for a midfield-centred concept, Latte Lath for an attacking-development concept, or Jones for a wide-play concept—but base the final tactical choice on the data in your save.
- Do not compare ratings from different database updates as though they came from one consistent roster.
