For a role-balanced West Brom save in Football Manager 2024, build around Okay Yokuşlu as your midfield anchor, Alex Mowatt as a second central option, and Grady Diangana as a wide attacking outlet. This is a tactical shortlist—not a definitive ranking by player ratings or a guarantee of in-game results.
Why these three fit together
The shortlist gives you two defensive-midfield options and an attacker who can cover either flank. That balance offers a practical starting point for shaping West Brom’s midfield and wide play, without claiming these are objectively the squad’s three highest-rated players.
Okay Yokuşlu: the midfield anchor
FM24’s West Brom squad guide lists Yokuşlu as a 29-year-old defensive midfielder. FM Scout identifies defensive midfield as his natural position and Deep Lying Playmaker as his best role, while assessing him as unlikely to improve. That profile makes him a logical short-term base for a tactic that needs a holding midfielder to help start possession; the role recommendation is based on the listed profile, not hands-on match testing. Alex Mowatt: another central option
The squad guide lists Mowatt as a 28-year-old defensive midfielder. He gives you another central option alongside Yokuşlu, which can help with rotation or a change in midfield shape. The available profile information does not establish a comparable role assessment or detailed attribute-based specialty, so choose him according to the needs of your tactic rather than assuming a particular in-game strength. West Brom’s official team sheet for 12 May 2024 also names him in the starting XI. West Brom FM24 squad guide and West Brom’s 12 May 2024 team sheet.

Grady Diangana: the wide attacking outlet
FM24’s squad guide lists Diangana as an attacking midfielder on either flank. That provides positional variety and a natural wide outlet alongside the two deeper midfielders. The available sources do not establish specific attribute strengths or a guaranteed goals or assists return, so treat him as a way to cover the wide attacking role rather than a promise of output. He was also named in West Brom’s starting XI on 12 May 2024. West Brom FM24 squad guide and West Brom’s 12 May 2024 team sheet.
How to choose alternatives
West Brom’s FM24 squad list also includes John Swift, Jayson Molumby, Jed Wallace, Josh Maja, Daryl Dike and Tom Fellows, among others. Compare them with the same tactical question in mind: what role or positional gap does your team need to fill?

If youth development is your priority, apply that as a separate filter. FM Scout’s wonderkids guide defines its category using high potential ability and an in-game age ceiling of 20 at the 3 July 2023 start point. That is the guide’s classification, not a promise that a player will develop the same way in every save. The available information does not establish that these three are West Brom’s strongest youth prospects. FM Scout’s wonderkids definition.
