In your first runs of 33 Immortals, focus on movement, dodging, enemy tells and staying near other players—not on maximizing solo damage. Use a Training Room if a weapon’s timing or your controls feel unfamiliar, learn one weapon well before frequently switching, and revive teammates only when the area is safe. These are practical beginner recommendations, not a verified ranking of weapons or builds.
What kind of game is 33 Immortals?
Thunder Lotus describes 33 Immortals as “a co-op action-roguelike for 33 players.” Runs center on fighting hordes and bosses alongside a large group, with powers players can combine. On Steam’s listing, the game also highlights online co-op and coordination using emotes, pings and cooperative abilities.
That scale makes cooperation part of the basic learning curve: positioning near others can make it easier to contribute and receive help. Treat the guidance below as general beginner advice rather than a guaranteed route through every encounter.
What should I learn first in 33 Immortals?
Build familiarity in an order that helps you stay alive and understand what is happening around you.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Windows and Android.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate (for 2.4G and wired connection)
- Hall Effect joysticks and Hall triggers. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings.
- Extra R4/L4 bumpers. Custom button mapping without using software. Turbo function.
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light but tactile.
- Movement and dodging: Get comfortable moving through groups and avoiding attacks before trying to maximize damage.
- Enemy tells: Watch for the cues that precede attacks, then choose a safe moment to dodge or respond.
- One weapon’s rhythm: If attacks feel awkward, practice in a Training Room. Stick with one readable weapon long enough to understand its timing instead of switching constantly.
- Group positioning: Stay close enough to cooperate and help, while still paying attention to incoming attacks.
- Objective flow and revives: Learn how the run progresses, and approach a downed teammate only when the surrounding area gives you a safe window.
This sequence reflects recommendations in a beginner guide last reviewed June 24, 2026; it is advice, not an official rulebook or independently tested strategy.
How should you approach a first run?
Prioritize staying alive
Survival is more useful than chasing damage alone. Avoid taking unnecessary risks for an attack, and use dodges and positioning to remain active with the group. In a large co-op run, staying available to cooperate is a practical contribution.

Revive when the area is safe
A teammate’s revive can help the group, but rushing into danger can leave you down as well. Wait for a safe opening rather than treating every revive as immediate.
Use communication tools
Steam’s listing identifies in-game emotes, pings and cooperative abilities as ways to coordinate. Use them to signal intent and work with nearby players, especially when the action makes voice coordination impractical.

How long is a run, and can you play with friends?
A secondary guide published June 19, 2026 describes a run as “about 25 minutes” and says you can enter a 33-player session solo or with up to four friends. Those are guide descriptions, not a promise that every session will take that long. Plan for a run to vary rather than relying on the estimate as a fixed timer.

Choose based on where your friends can install and play, and whether you plan to buy the game or access it through a subscription. Store availability and subscription catalogs can change, so check the current official listing for your region before purchasing or relying on subscription access; the available information does not establish one universally preferable storefront.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Are there beginner weapons or builds to use?
The available official sources do not identify a best beginner weapon, relic, perk or build, and they do not establish a current-version encounter strategy. It would be misleading to present a definitive tier list on that basis. Start with a weapon whose timing you can read, then adapt as you learn; rankings can become outdated when the game changes.
