There are four routes worth knowing, but only two currently send Robux through Roblox’s direct gifting tools: a Roblox Plus transfer and, for selected eligible U.S. users, a gift link. A Roblox gift card lets your friend redeem value for their own purchase. Group payouts apply only to legitimate collaborative work—not casual gifts.
Which method should you use?
| Method | What your friend receives | Who can use it | Key limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roblox Plus transfer | Robux sent to the recipient’s account after acceptance | Sender needs Roblox Plus; age-check and parent-approval rules apply | Transfer caps apply, and completed transfers cannot be reversed. Roblox Support |
| Roblox gift link | Robux purchased for the selected recipient | Selected eligible users in the U.S.; computer/web flow and adult age requirements apply | Giver must reside in the U.S. and verify a phone number; purchase is final. Roblox Support |
| Roblox gift card | Redeemable value the recipient can use toward their own Robux purchase | Check the card’s region and redemption terms | It is not a direct Robux transfer. Roblox Support |
| Group payout for collaborative work | A payout from group funds, if eligible | Members of a group with funds from legitimate collaborative development | Not a general-purpose way to gift purchased Robux. Roblox Support; Community Standards |
1. Send Robux with Roblox Plus
Roblox Plus is currently required for a direct user-to-user Robux transfer; the recipient does not need a Plus subscription. Roblox also sets age and safety conditions, so check eligibility before starting.
- People aged 16 or older must complete an Age Check.
- Users under 16 need a linked parent account and parent or caregiver approval each time they send or receive Robux.
- In some regions, users under 18 need parent approval.
- Accounts must be in good standing. Roblox says senders with 2-Step Verification enabled and accounts in good standing qualify for higher transfer limits.
Roblox’s current support page lists base caps of 500 Robux per day and 1,000 per month. For eligible accounts with 2-Step Verification enabled and good standing, the listed caps are 5,000 per day and 10,000 per month. Roblox notes that these limits may change. See Sending and Receiving Robux for current requirements and steps.
The recipient must accept the transfer; if they are under 16, a parent must approve it. If the required age checks are not completed within seven days, or parent approval is not given in time, the transfer is canceled and the Robux returned. Once a transfer is completed, it is final and cannot be reversed. Confirm the username and recipient before sending.

2. Use a Roblox gift link
Gift links are not available to every player. Roblox describes the feature as available to selected eligible users in the United States, on computer/web. The person creating and sharing the link must be at least 18. The giver must also be at least 18, live in the United States, and verify a phone number during checkout. The giver does not need a Roblox account or the Roblox app for this purchase.
- Your friend opens the Buy Robux page and uses the Request Robux flow to create a gift link or QR code.
- They share the link or QR code with you.
- Open the link in a browser. Before paying, check that the displayed username and avatar belong to your friend.
- Choose a package, verify your phone number, and complete checkout.
Roblox says gift-link packages use standard, non-Premium pricing and do not include bonus Robux or a bonus virtual item. Prepaid cards are not accepted for this flow, and gifted purchases are final and nonrefundable. Details and availability are in Roblox’s Gifting Robux help page.

3. Give a Roblox gift card
A gift card is the practical option when you want your friend to choose when and how to buy Robux. The recipient redeems the card value and makes their own purchase; the card does not move Robux directly from your account to theirs. Check the seller, denomination, region, and current redemption terms before buying, since the available terms can vary.
Roblox says purchases of Robux on the web, computers, and with gift cards receive “up to 25% more Robux.” That is Roblox’s stated maximum, not a guarantee for every purchase or location; check the current local terms on Ways to Get Robux.

4. Use a group payout only to pay for collaborative work
Roblox says group experiences belong to the group, and earnings from those experiences go to the group. A payout can make sense when it compensates a collaborator for work on group content. Roblox’s Community Standards prohibit fraudulent or misleading payouts, including paying members for reasons other than compensation for collaborative content development. This is not an appropriate workaround for sending a friend Robux as a casual gift. See Group Experiences and Roblox Community Standards.
Why buying a friend’s pass is not a reliable gifting shortcut
Creators can set prices for Experience Passes, but Roblox says pass earnings remain pending in escrow before release and are subject to a transaction fee. The official guidance does not establish buying a friend’s pass as an endorsed, universal, or fee-free way to gift Robux. Treat a pass as a creator sale, not a substitute for a direct transfer. See Experience Passes.

Avoid Robux scams and fake transfer services
Roblox prohibits third-party services that buy, sell, trade, or give away Robux; its policy distinguishes Roblox gift cards from those services. Roblox also says Robux generators do not exist and that generator claims are scams. Do not share account credentials or send Robux to someone who claims it will verify your account. Roblox’s warning is explicit: “Roblox will never ask you to send Robux to another user to verify your account or for any other reason.” Read the Community Standards and Roblox’s warning about buying and selling experiences before trusting offers involving Robux or game access.
