Best mobile premium replacement: Titan Quest: Legendary Edition. Best free mobile option: Eternium. Best complete PC escape: Grim Dawn. Torchlight: Infinite delivers the closest modern mobile loot grind, but it remains a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. Last Epoch is the strongest modern PC choice for build experimentation.
Diablo Immortal is not literally unplayable without spending. The problem is that currencies, paid upgrade resources, recurring offers and randomized rewards become more relevant to late-game optimization and competitive progression than they are during the campaign, as reviews from GameSpot, Windows Central and TechRadar explain.
This list separates games with a cleaner ownership model from free-to-play games that merely reduce pay-to-win pressure. “No microtransactions” and “no pay-to-win” are not the same promise.
Quick comparison
| Game | Platforms | Price model | Microtransaction verdict | Best for | Main drawback |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Titan Quest: Legendary Edition | Android, iOS, PC | Premium purchase; DLC sold separately | No ads or gameplay microtransactions in the core listing; additional expansions cost extra | Offline premium mobile ARPG | Older combat and no shared MMO world |
| Eternium | Android, iOS | Free with in-app purchases | Developer markets it as “no paywalls, never pay to win” | Free mobile play without pay-to-win progression | Gesture controls and lighter presentation |
| Torchlight: Infinite | Android, iOS, PC | Free with in-app purchases | Not a zero-microtransaction game; seasonal live-service monetization remains | Deep, fast mobile builds | Shop, seasons and premium systems |
| Grim Dawn | PC | Premium purchase; expansions sold separately | No in-game shop-driven progression model | Complete single-player-style PC ARPG | PC-only and visually dated |
| Last Epoch | PC | Premium purchase; ongoing online elements | Premium entry, but current shop policy should be checked before purchase | Modern build crafting | Not mobile and more complex than Diablo Immortal |
1. Titan Quest: Legendary Edition
Best for: players who would rather buy a substantial mobile RPG than manage a free-to-play economy.

- WIDE SCREEN COMPATIBILITY — PHONE TO TABLET: X5 Lite is a versatile phone controller that stretches up to 213mm to fit iPhone 15/16, most Android phones, iPad mini 6/7, and compatible Android tablets. Secure Type-C connection keeps gameplay stable and responsive.
- MOBILE, CLOUD & REMOTE GAMING: Play supported mobile games like Zenless Zone Zero, or stream console and PC games through Xbox Game Pass, Steam Link, Moonlight, and remote play. Enjoy physical controls wherever you play.
- HALL EFFECT STICKS — PRECISE CONTROL: GameSir Hall Effect sensing sticks deliver smooth 360° control for accurate aiming, movement, and camera adjustments. Built for fast-paced mobile games and streamed console or PC titles.
- LIGHTWEIGHT & ERGONOMIC — 135.4G: At just 135.4g, X5 Lite stays lightweight during extended gaming. Ergonomic, laser-engraved textured grips provide a secure, comfortable hold at home or on the go.
- CUSHIONED MEMBRANE CONTROLS — COMFORTABLE & QUIETER: Cushioned membrane buttons and triggers provide comfortable feedback for repeated inputs while keeping operation quieter. Ideal for extended sessions or gaming in shared spaces.
Titan Quest is the clearest premium-mobile recommendation. The standard mobile listing describes the base experience as having no ads and no microtransactions, while expansions are separate purchases (Google Play). The Legendary Edition includes the original game, Immortal Throne, Ragnarök and Atlantis; Eternal Embers remains additional DLC (Google Play).
What you get
- Traditional isometric hack-and-slash combat and randomized loot.
- Flexible character development through multiple mastery combinations.
- Offline play and no energy meter or forced daily spending loop.
- Mobile and PC availability.
- The publisher advertises more than 60 hours of play, 1,200-plus items, 30 classes and 150 skills; those are publisher-provided figures, not independent measurements (Google Play).
The iOS Legendary Edition listing identifies controller support, although compatibility can vary by device and operating system (App Store).
Where it falls short
The game originated in 2006, so combat is less fluid than Diablo Immortal and the mobile interface can feel dated. There is no shared-world MMO structure, raid ecosystem or comparable PvP service. “No microtransactions” applies to the core product, not to every expansion you may want.
2. Eternium
Best for: free mobile players who mainly object to pay-to-win progression.

Eternium is free to download, and its current App Store description explicitly promotes a “no paywalls, never pay to win” philosophy. Google Play similarly says the best rewards are earned by playing (App Store; Google Play).
Why it works
- Mobile-first action-RPG structure with loot, abilities, crafting and character progression.
- Tap-to-move and swipe-to-cast controls.
- Ongoing seasonal content; the current iOS copy references 2026 events and modes (App Store).
- A stated progression model intended to let players earn the important rewards through play.
Important limitation
Eternium does have in-app purchases, so it is not a strictly microtransaction-free recommendation. Its graphics and effects are less polished than Diablo Immortal, and its gesture controls are divisive. It also does not reproduce Diablo Immortal’s MMO-scale social world.
3. Torchlight: Infinite
Best for: players who want the closest modern mobile loot-grind experience and can tolerate optional purchases.
Torchlight: Infinite offers fast combat, extensive skill and legendary-gear systems, seasonal progression, a trade house and cross-platform availability. Its official listings describe no stamina, no cooldowns and broad hero-building options (Google Play; App Store).

- Cushioned and Durable Membrane: The X5 Lite is equipped with cushioned and durable membrane triggers and buttons. The cushioned feedback provides a comfortable experience while ensuring quieter operation
Why it is compelling
- Screen-filling real-time combat and large loot systems.
- More build customization than Diablo Immortal for players who enjoy optimization.
- Seasonal resets and a player economy create substantial replayability.
- Free entry on mobile and PC.
Why it is not a strict fit
The store listings clearly identify in-app purchases. Skins, Pactspirits, seasonal systems and other live-service features can still feel like the monetization environment you are trying to leave. A historical producer interview described an intention to avoid pay-to-win and emphasize cosmetics, but that is an attributed development position rather than proof that every current system is progression-neutral (Pocket Gamer).
Verdict: choose it when you hate Diablo Immortal’s competitive spending pressure, not when you want no shop, no passes and no recurring monetization.
4. Grim Dawn
Best for: players willing to move to PC for a premium ARPG without battle passes, energy systems or an in-game shop driving progression.
Grim Dawn combines a substantial campaign, a dual-class system, deep itemization and extensive build experimentation. It is primarily a campaign-driven, single-player-style experience rather than an MMO service. The base game was listed at $24.99 on Steam in the supplied U.S. storefront check; expansions are sold separately, and the Fangs of Asterkarn expansion was shown as released in July 2026. Prices and sale status can change (Steam).

- Compatible with Android devices and fits mobile devices ranging from 100mm to 170mm in length.
- Hall Effect Joysticks and Triggers
- Refined bumpers and D-pad. Light and tactile.
- 2 Pro back paddle buttons
- Profile button. Wear-resistant metal joystick rings. Turbo function.
Trade-offs
- PC-only in this comparison.
- Older visuals and a more deliberate feel than Blizzard’s mobile combat.
- The number of skills, devotions, items and class combinations can overwhelm newcomers.
- Expansions increase the total cost, but they are conventional purchases rather than recurring character-power transactions.
5. Last Epoch
Best for: PC players who want a newer interface and extensive skill specialization.
Last Epoch is the modern alternative here. Its class specializations and skill trees encourage theorycrafting, while its endgame systems support repeated character building. Steam showed a $34.99 U.S. price in the supplied storefront check (Steam).
What to consider
- It is PC-only for this comparison and cannot replace a phone game.
- It costs more upfront than Grim Dawn’s base game.
- It includes ongoing online and live-service elements, so it should not be presented as a completely static offline product.
- Current shop and post-launch policies can change; check the live Steam page and official developer information before buying.
Last Epoch is a strong choice if “premium entry price” matters more to you than absolute permanence, but the available evidence does not justify an unconditional claim that every current monetization element is cosmetic-only.

If you want no gameplay-focused spending
- Mobile: Titan Quest: Legendary Edition.
- PC: Grim Dawn.
- Modern PC systems: Last Epoch, after checking its current online and shop policies.
If you want to spend nothing on mobile
- Eternium for the clearest stated no-paywall, no-pay-to-win position.
- Torchlight: Infinite for deeper systems, provided its in-app purchases and seasonal economy are acceptable.
If you want multiplayer and live systems
Torchlight: Infinite is the closest fit among these five because its official listing highlights seasonal content, a trade house and a player market (Google Play). Titan Quest and Grim Dawn are better understood as campaign-focused games, while Eternium is not an MMO replacement. Last Epoch is an online PC ARPG, not a mobile shared-world substitute.

Prices, editions and platform checks
Storefront prices in this article are U.S.-oriented signals observed on August 16, 2026, and may reflect sales, regional pricing or different editions. Recheck the listing on purchase day. Titan Quest has separate original and Legendary Edition mobile listings; the original listing describes a no-ads, no-microtransaction base game while selling expansions separately (Google Play). Mobile availability, DLC, controller support and offline behavior can differ between iOS, Android, tablets and phones.
For official purchases, use the Titan Quest Android listing, Titan Quest iOS listing, Eternium, Torchlight: Infinite, Grim Dawn on Steam or Last Epoch on Steam. Avoid unofficial ports, APK sites and third-party account sellers.
