The unnamed new PvP extraction shooter in this title appears to be DMZ, the extraction mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Activision’s Daniel Noel described DMZ as an extraction shooter in a PlayStation Blog overview published October 5, 2026. The game was listed for PS5 pre-order and scheduled to launch October 23, 2026; those are pre-launch details, not confirmation of current availability. Here are five tips grounded in the overview to help you plan a run, make progress and manage risk.
1. Choose a deployment that fits your goal
DMZ offers three ways to enter Hajin, and they suit different kinds of sessions. None is described as universally best.

Pick the deployment before you leave the FOB so the run has a clear shape. A mission-focused session and an exploratory one ask for different priorities.
2. Use missions and Orders to give each run a purpose
The FOB’s DMZ Orders station tracks structured objectives and their rewards. Activision’s overview also recommends prioritizing Story Missions, Dynamic Operations and Orders for gear and XP. Before deploying, decide which objective you are pursuing; aimless exploration can make it harder to focus on the progression options the overview identifies.

3. Treat the FOB as your between-run progression hub
The Forward Operating Base is where you prepare and develop your operation between deployments. You can manage and select an Active Duty Operator, check status, choose a loadout, store extracted items and test equipped weapons at the Firing Range.
Successful deployments unlock additional stations. As the base develops, the overview describes more than a dozen stations, including a 3D Printer for crafting gear and upgrading stations, a Gunsmith, Vendor, Bounty Leaderboard and Boss Board. It also lists a DMZ Progression Track spanning levels 1–70. Consider the FOB part of the progression loop: use it to prepare for the next run and make use of what you bring back.

4. Loot with a plan, and value the extraction
The overview recommends looting consistently, using acquired items at the 3D Printer and improving your match rating. Items you extract go into the Stash. Its After Action Report rating reflects fighting, looting and completing objectives; the source associates an S Tier rating or better with the best rewards.
That makes looting and objective completion relevant to more than what you carry during a deployment. The overview does not spell out exact item values or the consequences of failing to extract, so avoid treating any particular item or risk as a guaranteed trade.

5. Watch area Threat Levels, noise and travel
Each area of Hajin has a Threat Level. The overview warns that excessive noise can prompt a violent response specific to that area and suggests stealth as a way to manage risk. That is not a promise that moving quietly will prevent enemy contact; use the local threat information as a reason to be deliberate about how you approach an area.
Vehicles can speed travel across land, water and air, and the overview says they can be repaired and refueled at Gas Stations. Faster movement can help cover ground, but weigh it against the warning that noise can draw a response.

Optional: pursue boss encounters when you are ready
Lieutenants and Commanders are potential targets for XP, weapons and high-value loot, according to Activision’s overview. Treat them as optional higher-risk objectives rather than a default first-deployment task. DMZ also has PvP-specific features: the Bounty Leaderboard provides intel on active PvP bounty hunters and killers, while the Dog Tag Case displays defeated Operators’ trophies. The overview identifies these systems but does not provide enough detail to prescribe a PvP strategy.
