There is no confirmed next DC game, Injustice 3, or Green Lantern roster. But if DC builds a new game around the Lantern mythos, five characters could offer sharply different roles: John Stewart and Jessica Cruz as potential leads, Saint Walker as support, Larfleeze as a wild-card opponent, Kyle Rayner as a creative powerhouse, and Sinestro as the central foil. These are possibilities, not announced features.
Why these five fit a hypothetical DC game
The appeal of a Lantern game is not just a collection of power rings. The characters bring distinct emotional and visual identities that could shape both story and play: will, hope, greed, imagination, and fear. Matthew Danielson’s October 5, 2026 ComicBook.com roundup proposes these five entries, while noting that even the rumored Injustice 3 does not guarantee their inclusion. Every game role below is a design suggestion, not a report about a confirmed project. Read the ComicBook.com feature.
1. John Stewart and Jessica Cruz: two potential leads
John Stewart could anchor a grounded, Earth-based adventure, while Jessica Cruz could make a second playable protagonist with a different origin and personality. Pairing them would give a game room for contrasting perspectives without requiring it to abandon the larger cosmic scale of Green Lantern stories.
That pairing has a comics foundation, not a game announcement. DC’s Green Lanterns: Rebirth #1 introduces Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz as rookie Lanterns dealing with threats on Earth. DC’s Green Lantern: Rebirth #1 brings John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner, and the wider mythology into a shared story; its official description says, “The fates of Kyle Rayner, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, and the rest of the Green Lantern mythology unfold in this colossal tale of heroism involving the entire DCU!” DC: Green Lanterns: Rebirth #1 · DC: Green Lantern: Rebirth #1

2. Saint Walker: a mentor or support character
Saint Walker, the Blue Lantern, could work as a mentor, quest giver, or tutorial guide in a role-playing game concept. His association with hope and pacifism, as discussed in the ComicBook.com feature, could also offer a different kind of presence in a fighting game—but making him a distinctive fighter would be a creative interpretation, not an established game role.
DC’s Green Lantern: Brightest Day listing includes Saint Walker among the Lantern characters in its collected story, providing a comics entry point for readers unfamiliar with him. DC: Green Lantern: Brightest Day

3. Larfleeze: an unpredictable boss or fighter
Larfleeze could give a cosmic adventure a memorable opponent—or, if the game supports a wider roster, an unusual playable fighter. The ComicBook.com feature emphasizes his greed-driven orange power and singular status, qualities that would distinguish him from a team of more conventional heroes. A boss encounter could make that self-interest part of the conflict; a playable version could turn it into a striking contrast with the other Lanterns.
Those are proposed uses, not confirmed mechanics or story beats. DC’s Green Lantern: Brightest Day listing also names Larfleeze among its Lantern characters. DC: Green Lantern: Brightest Day

4. Kyle Rayner: a Lantern built for creative play
Kyle Rayner’s background as an artist makes him a natural fit for a game that turns imaginative constructs into a central part of its combat or puzzle design. He could appear as a Green Lantern, or the game could explore the White Lantern version proposed by the ComicBook.com feature. Either choice would be a creative direction for a future game, not evidence that one is in development.
DC’s Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner Vol. 1 describes the moment that launches his story: artist Kyle receives the last power ring. For a broader starting point, Green Lantern by Geoff Johns Book One collects Green Lantern: Rebirth #1–6 along with other Lantern stories and features Kyle, John Stewart, and Sinestro. It is a comics collection, not a game tie-in. DC: Green Lantern: Kyle Rayner Vol. 1 · DC: Green Lantern by Geoff Johns Book One

5. Sinestro: the clearest ideological foil
Sinestro could serve as the antagonist at the center of a Lantern story, or as an uneasy ally when a larger threat forces cooperation. The ComicBook.com feature points to his yellow ring and fear-based Corps as a source of contrast with Green Lantern protagonists. That conflict could give a game a strong personal and ideological counterweight, whether or not it ever makes him playable.
DC’s listings place Sinestro in both Green Lantern: Brightest Day and Green Lantern: Rebirth #1. Those comics establish relevant story context; neither listing confirms a future game appearance. DC: Green Lantern: Brightest Day · DC: Green Lantern: Rebirth #1

How the five could shape different kinds of game
| Character | Suggested game role | Potential story or power identity |
|---|---|---|
| John Stewart and Jessica Cruz | Paired leads or selectable protagonists | Earth-based entry point, with distinct origins and personalities |
| Saint Walker | Mentor, quest giver, tutorial support, or hypothetical fighter | Hope and a contrasting approach to conflict |
| Larfleeze | Boss, information source, or playable fighter | Greed-driven orange power and an unpredictable presence |
| Kyle Rayner | Playable Lantern, potentially in a White Lantern interpretation | Artist’s imagination and creative constructs |
| Sinestro | Antagonist, rival, or reluctant ally | Fear-based power and direct ideological opposition |
The balance is the point: John and Jessica could keep the opening personal and Earthbound; Saint Walker and Larfleeze could widen the cast’s emotional range; Kyle could make construct-based abilities feel expressive; and Sinestro could connect the conflicts through a direct challenge to the Green Lanterns’ ideals. Which role works best would depend on whether the game is an action adventure, role-playing game, or fighter.
