If you want a queer dating sim, start by deciding whether you want romance to be the main event or part of a game with other mechanics. Dream Daddy and Monster Prom put dating at the center; Boyfriend Dungeon adds dungeon combat, while Arcade Spirits is best understood as a romantic visual novel. Date Everything! takes the genre in a deliberately comic, object-dating direction. This is a ranked, evidence-based shortlist—not a claim that these are objectively the ten best games or that every title is a traditional dating sim.
How these LGBTQ+ dating sims are ranked
A useful definition comes from a DiGRA conference paper: “A dating simulator is a story-based video game genre where the central goal is to develop, partake in, or sustain a romantic relationship with another character.” DiGRA paper For this list, the order weighs how central relationship-building is, the queer relevance or player options established by the sources, the balance of reading and active play, and whether the game is designed for solo or multiplayer play. Editorial roundups help describe style, but their rankings are subjective.

The evidence supports five recommendations, not ten. The ranking therefore avoids padding the list with titles whose LGBTQIA+ relevance or mechanics are not established here. A game tagged LGBTQ+ is not automatically a comprehensive portrait of queer identities, and the specific premise of one game should not be treated as universal representation.
1. Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator
Dream Daddy is the clearest choice here if you want a story-led romance specifically about dads dating dads. Steam describes the player character as a dad whose goal is to meet and romance other dads, and labels the game LGBTQ+ and a dating sim. TechRadar also includes it in its LGBTQ+ dating-sim roundup. #1 Best Overall
- Prepare for chaos as Handsome beings from different worlds step through a magical Portal into your cafe!
- Learn more about your new companions and Your grandfather's as more surprises show up at your door.
- Discover an enchanting, uplifting, coffee-fueled tale filled with magic, monsters, and mysteries.
- Only the first run copy had the card set.
Its focused premise is also its boundary: this is a dad-dating setup, not a stand-in for every queer relationship or identity. Choose it for a romance-forward story with that particular cast and framing.
2. Monster Prom
Monster Prom is the strongest pick for playful, replayable dating-sim structure and social chaos. TechRadar describes it as inclusive, while GamesRadar highlights its multiplayer. A peer-reviewed conference paper examines queer design choices including flexible pronouns. TechRadar GamesRadar FDG paper

Go with “New Parasite” mode for a chance to experience Merenice Levin's perspective of the events that take place after the common route of Cupid Parasite. You can also explore routes you unlocked in “Bonus Episode” mode for six bonus episodes with their own unlockable CGs!
- In Sweetness and In Spiciness?! – You must choose the flavor of the next course. Will you go with the sweet? Or will you go with the spicy? When prompted with the choice during gameplay, select between sweet or spicy to impact the ending of your selected route. Manage to balance the flavors for a chance at something really appetizing.
- Rich, Decadent Visuals and Savory Scenarios – The original scenario writer and illustrator of Cupid Parasite return! Ririka Yoshimura (scenario writer) and Yuuya (illustrator) join forces once again to bring fans a delectable addition to the Cupid Parasite universe. Reversible Cover - The physical game will feature a special image on the reverse side of the cover.
- Languages - English in-game text and Japanese in-game voice.
The multiplayer angle makes it a better fit than a conventional solo romance visual novel if you want to play alongside friends. Flexible pronouns are a meaningful design choice, but they do not mean every player’s experience is identical or that one feature represents every identity.
3. Arcade Spirits
Arcade Spirits is a romantic visual novel with LGBTQ+ relevance, rather than a direct match for every traditional stat-driven dating sim. TechRadar describes it as a diverse romantic visual novel set in an alternate timeline where the 1983 video-game crash never happened. TechRadar

4. Boyfriend Dungeon

- An extensive tale to read, enhanced by breathtaking artwork and a stirring original musical score.
This hybrid is the best match on the list for readers looking for queer dating sims with actual action gameplay. It is a less direct fit if you want a romance-only visual novel, because combat is part of the experience.
