This guide covers five recognizable codes—267, 277, 279, 403 and 524—and explains what each one indicates, which steps Roblox recommends where documented, and who to contact if it continues.
Start by identifying the kind of problem
A Roblox error code is a clue, not proof that your internet connection or device is broken. The wording can point to a connection problem between the client and server, a client startup failure, or a restriction set by an individual experience creator.
Note the exact code and message, your device and operating system, and whether the problem happens in one experience or across several. Roblox recommends giving those details when reporting a glitch; see its Reporting Bugs guidance. Then use the matching section below.
Error 267: Banned from an Experience
Error 267 means the creator of a particular experience banned your account from that experience. Roblox says the ban is not issued by Roblox; it does not mean you are banned from the entire platform, and you can still use other experiences and Roblox features.

Roblox Support cannot remove this creator-issued ban or contact the creator on your behalf. If you believe the ban was made in error, contact the experience creator using a channel they provide, such as Roblox messaging or chat, a community wall if available, or links on the creator’s profile or the experience details. Reinstalling Roblox or asking Roblox Support to reverse this specific ban is not the appropriate appeal route. Read Roblox’s Error Code 267 article.
Errors 277 and 279 / ID 17: Connection failed
Error 277: Lost connection to the game server
Roblox describes error 277 as a failure to establish a network connection between the client application and servers. Its troubleshooting guidance covers PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Amazon Fire OS and ChromeOS, with steps that vary by device. Start with a restart or force-close of Roblox, check that your device’s date and time are correct, and make sure the app and relevant permissions are up to date. Roblox also recommends reinstalling where appropriate and trying a different internet connection. For Windows, its article additionally mentions clearing Roblox app data.

If the problem continues across different connections, Roblox advises contacting your internet service provider. Use the current operating-system-specific instructions in Roblox’s connection troubleshooting article; some of its platform guidance may differ by device.
Error 279 / ID 17: Failed to connect to the Game
Roblox’s official index labels 279 / ID 17 as a failed connection to the game. Roblox’s localized support result says it generally occurs when the client and servers have difficulty establishing a network connection on PC, Mac or mobile. Follow the relevant device-specific connection guidance rather than assuming this code has a single fix. The English support article’s detailed instructions are not established here, so no more specific remedy can be reliably attributed to it.

For either connection code, testing another network can help you determine whether the issue is limited to your current connection. If it persists across connections, raise it with your ISP; if you report it to Roblox, include the code, device, affected experiences and steps already tried.
Error 403: PC client fails to initialize
Roblox’s error 403 article describes a PC client launched from the website that fails to initialize properly. This explanation is specific to that Roblox launch problem; it does not explain every HTTP 403 error you might encounter on the web.

For Windows, Roblox recommends restarting, uninstalling and reinstalling Roblox, clearing Roblox app data, and testing another internet connection. If the issue remains, the article suggests contacting your ISP. For trouble launching from a website on Windows or Mac, Roblox also recommends clearing temporary internet files and cookies, updating the browser, and disabling active extensions, plugins and VPNs. When to contact Roblox Support
If your code is not covered by a relevant help article, or the recommended steps do not resolve it, contact Roblox Support through its support page. Include the exact message and code, when the problem began, your device and operating system, whether it affects one experience or all of them, and what you have already tried. For a 267 ban, contact the experience creator instead; for a network problem that continues on different connections, Roblox’s 277 guidance points to your ISP.
