The stock Meta Quest 3 strap is light, but its elastic fabric design does little to balance the headset. A replacement can move pressure from your cheeks to your forehead and the back of your head, improve stability, and—if it includes a battery—extend play time. The best choice depends on whether you prefer a halo or Elite-style fit, play actively or reclined, and need extra power. The six picks below are also listed by their manufacturers for Quest 3S, although cases, facial interfaces, and docks can still be model-specific.

Choose the fit before choosing the brand
Halo straps
BOBOVR S3 Pro, BOBOVR M3, BOBOVR M3 Pro+, and KIWI H4 Boost use a forehead-and-crown support system. They can substantially reduce cheek pressure and suit movies, productivity, and other seated sessions. Some let the headset sit slightly away from the face, which can help reclining.

The trade-off is movement: a halo can wobble during Beat Saber, boxing, or fitness, and forehead pressure may replace cheek pressure. Bulkier rear cradles can also conflict with carrying cases. “Halo” is not a guarantee of comfort.
Elite-style straps
KIWI K4 Boost and Meta’s Elite Strap with Battery clamp the headset more firmly to the face. That familiar geometry generally favors rapid movement and users who dislike a floating feeling. It can, however, increase facial pressure and is less pleasant against a pillow. Loosen the rear dial and use the top strap to carry weight before tightening anything further.
Battery or no battery?
A battery strap can improve balance and runtime at once, but it adds mass, cost, charging hardware, and another battery that will eventually age. A battery-free strap paired with a USB-C power bank is often better for short sessions.
Do not convert capacity directly into hours. Voltage, conversion losses, brightness, mixed-reality use, volume, temperature, and battery age all affect runtime. KIWI’s “up to” figures and Meta’s approximately two-hour figure are manufacturer or comparison estimates, not guarantees.
BOBOVR’s B2, BM60, and B100 platforms are different systems. The company says they are not interchangeable, so match the battery and dock to the exact strap model: BOBOVR’s Quest 3 head-strap guide.

The S3 Pro is listed for Quest 3 and Quest 3S at $89.99 and includes BOBOVR’s 10,000mAh B100 battery, hot-swapping, and a fan that moves air across the face. That combination gives marathon users more flexibility than a simple integrated battery.
The fan is an airflow feature, not evidence that it materially lowers headset temperature. The strap is also larger and heavier than the M3, may need a compatible case, and can feel less secure in rapid movement. Choose it for capacity and counterbalance, not because a fan makes every fit comfortable.

Buy it if: you want forehead support, adjustable viewing distance, and a recline-friendly design.
KIWI lists the H4 Boost for Quest 3/3S at $79.99 on sale, with $99.99 shown as the regular price. Its 5,300mAh/20.4Wh battery is advertised for up to about three additional hours. The product page highlights a front headrest, ventilation, adjustable field of view, recline support, and simultaneous charging.
Those comfort and runtime statements are KIWI’s claims. The battery is not hot-swappable, and a halo can wobble during intense play. It is a better match for movies, work, and seated social VR than for users who demand a locked-down competitive fit.
3. BOBOVR M3 — best battery-free comfort strap
Buy it if: you want to fix balance and pressure without adding battery weight.

At a listed $39.99, the M3 is BOBOVR’s entry comfort strap for Quest 3/3S. It separates the fit decision from the power decision: use it with your existing charging routine or a power bank, and add a compatible BOBOVR battery later if needed.
It adds no runtime by itself, and its halo architecture may move during fitness games. A later battery upgrade also requires checking whether the battery is B2, BM60, or B100 rather than assuming every BOBOVR pack fits.
4. KIWI design K4 Boost — best for active games
Buy it if: you prefer an Elite-style hold for fitness, Beat Saber, or other high-motion play.
The K4 Boost is listed at $69.99 for Quest 3/3S. KIWI specifies a 5,300mAh/20.4Wh battery, rear headrest, counterweighting, simultaneous charging, a 52-degree damping hinge, and a quick-adjustment knob. Its listings describe roughly 2.5 hours of extra play in one section and up to three hours in another, so treat runtime as an approximate advertised maximum.

The secure fit is its advantage and its risk. Tightening the dial too far can create cheek pain or headaches. It is not hot-swappable, and readers who want minimal facial contact should choose a halo model instead.

BOBOVR lists the M3 Pro+ at $59.99 with its 6,500mAh BM60 battery platform and a dock-inclusive package. It keeps the M3’s basic comfort approach while costing less than the S3 Pro.
There is no S3 Pro airflow fan, the battery is smaller, and BM60 is not interchangeable with B100 or B2 products. Bundle contents and availability can change, so confirm the listing before ordering.

Buy it if: first-party support and the lowest compatibility uncertainty matter more than price.
Meta’s Elite-style strap has an integrated battery and is commonly advertised as adding up to about two hours. Comparison coverage placed it at approximately $129.99. It is a conservative choice for buyers who want Meta’s support channel and a familiar, firm fit.
That premium is substantial beside current BOBOVR and KIWI listings, and the advertised extension is lower than some aftermarket claims. Verify Meta’s live regional price and availability before purchase; the figure above is not a guaranteed current store price.

- Choose the S3 Pro for the largest advertised battery, hot-swapping, and airflow during long sessions.
- Choose the H4 Boost for a halo fit aimed at low cheek pressure, movies, and reclining.
- Choose the M3 when comfort matters but you do not need integrated power.
- Choose the K4 Boost when movement stability is more important than minimizing facial contact.
- Choose the M3 Pro+ when a battery and dock make the best value package.
- Choose Meta’s strap when official support outweighs the aftermarket price difference.
Fix the common fit and charging problems
The strap is comfortable, but your face still hurts
A strap changes head support; a facial interface changes where plastic and padding touch your face. If pain remains around the nose, cheeks, or brow after correct strap adjustment, consider a replacement interface. KIWI lists separate Quest 3 and Quest 3S interfaces, so check the headset model: KIWI’s Quest 3/3S accessories.

A halo strap wobbles
- Loosen the rear dial.
- Seat the forehead pad first.
- Adjust the top strap until rocking stops.
- Tighten the dial only enough to stabilize the headset.
- If it still moves, use an Elite-style strap for high-motion play.
An Elite-style strap causes headaches
Over-tightening is often an attempt to compensate for poor balance. Let the top strap carry more weight, check the rear cradle height, and reduce facial-interface pressure before tightening the dial again. Pain is a fit warning, not a signal to clamp harder.
The battery does not charge as expected
- Use the correct USB-C cable and check the strap’s power button.
- Confirm whether the strap supports simultaneous charging and whether the charger supplies adequate wattage.
- Check that the strap battery is not empty or in storage-protection mode.
- Remember that a full Quest battery may not draw additional power.
KIWI explicitly advertises simultaneous charging for the K4 and H4 Boost; do not assume every battery strap behaves the same way: KIWI K4 Boost product page.
The strap does not fit your case
Rear batteries and halo frames can exceed standard case dimensions. Check the case maker’s compatibility list; BOBOVR identifies cases for particular S3 Pro and E3 Pro designs in its listings. A strap listed for Quest 3/3S is not automatically compatible with every case, dock, or facial interface.
You are buying for a child
Adult-sized straps are not guaranteed to fit smaller heads securely. KIWI’s H4 page recommends ages 12 and older, so follow the manufacturer’s stated age guidance rather than assuming the adjustment range is sufficient.
Other sensible options
- KIWI K4 Comfort: a non-battery Elite-style option listed at $39.99 for users who want stability without extra runtime.
- KIWI K4 Duo: an audio-and-battery model listed at $139.99 sale and $159.99 regular; poor value if you already own headphones.
- BOBOVR E3 Pro: listed at $79.99 for buyers wanting a large battery without the S3 Pro fan.
- USB-C power bank plus M3: a flexible setup when you want battery-free head support.
- Replacement facial interface: the more direct fix when contact pressure or sweat—not balance—is the real problem.
