Gran Turismo 7 centers on buying, tuning and racing cars. The US PlayStation Store listing describes more than 90 track routes and over 400 cars; PlayStation’s editorial guide instead says over 420 cars. Those are different figures published on two official pages, so they should not be treated as one definitive count. The Store page also describes GT Sport online competition. On PS5, PlayStation lists adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and 4K/HDR targeting 60fps. Its PS VR2 mode requires the PS VR2 headset.

2. F1 25: licensed Formula One racing
Pick it if: you want the teams, setting and format of Formula One rather than a broad mix of motorsport disciplines.
F1 25 is the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship and released for PS5 on May 30, 2025. PlayStation highlights My Team 2.0, the Braking Point 3 story mode, adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and 3D audio. The Store page also describes rebuilt circuits and online co-op events. The championship designation is for 2025; it should not be read as a claim about a later season’s roster or licensing.

3. EA Sports WRC: rally on dirt, snow and asphalt
Pick it if: you prefer rally stages and changing surfaces to repeated laps on a circuit.
PlayStation identifies EA Sports WRC as the official FIA World Rally Championship game. Its page describes WRC, WRC2 and Junior WRC cars from the 2023 season, plus Builder and Moments modes. The driving spans dirt, snow and asphalt; the page lists historic cars, 17 locations and more than 200 stages available at launch. The season reference matters: these are 2023-season vehicles, not a promise of current real-world championship rosters. The game released October 31, 2023.

4. The Crew Motorfest: an open-world mix of vehicles
Pick it if: you want to move between different kinds of vehicle and explore rather than stick to one racing discipline.
Set on O’ahu, The Crew Motorfest features city, forest and mountain routes, with cars, boats and planes. Its PlayStation page says online play is required and lists support for up to 32 online players with PS Plus. The page also describes DualSense feedback and PS5 Pro enhancements; these are platform features stated by PlayStation, not a hands-on performance assessment.

5. Forza Horizon 5: explore an open world in Mexico
Pick it if: driving around a large setting and finding activities matters more than licensed circuit competition.
PlayStation’s guide lists Forza Horizon 5 for PS5 and describes an open world across Mexico, hundreds of cars, changing seasons and weather, and Horizon Arcade activities. Those details make it the exploration-first choice in this list; the guide does not establish a performance comparison with other PS5 racers.

6. Need for Speed Unbound: street races and police pursuits
Pick it if: you want customized street cars, a stylized presentation and the risk of police pursuits.
PlayStation describes Unbound’s Lakeshore setting, races, customized cars and police chases. Its street-racing theme makes it a different proposition from the licensed championship structure of F1 25 or the circuit focus of Gran Turismo 7.

7. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds: character-based kart racing
Pick it if: you want a lighter, character-led alternative to realistic motorsport.
PlayStation’s guide lists 23 Sonic characters, dimensional Travel Rings, and play for 1–4 players offline or 2–12 online. Those player counts are the figures in the guide and may vary by mode or listing details; check the current Store page for the version and region you use.
