Harrison Jones points to the fictional Indiana Jones, Lady La-La is identified as a Lady Gaga reference, and Haris Pilton is commonly read as a Paris Hilton parody. Here are four well-supported examples, with the distinction between celebrity parody and broader pop-culture homage kept clear; the available evidence does not establish a definitive set of eight celebrity-parody NPCs.
What counts as a celebrity parody in WoW?
A name, costume, pet, ability, or quest can signal a reference, but that does not make every joke NPC a parody of a real person. The examples below separate real-celebrity references from fictional-character homages and jokes about player behavior. Some identifications are community interpretations rather than confirmed statements from Blizzard, so the attribution matters.

Celebrity and pop-culture NPC references
Harrison Jones: Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford
Harrison Jones is a clear Indiana Jones homage, and Indiana Jones is played by Harrison Ford. Wowhead’s Harrison Jones NPC page lists him in Grizzly Hills and points to recognizable Indiana Jones cues: an aversion to snakes, a gong scene, and an escort quest. This is principally a reference to a fictional character, not a direct imitation of Harrison Ford himself.

Haris Pilton: commonly read as Paris Hilton
Haris Pilton’s name is commonly understood as a play on Paris Hilton. Wowhead’s Haris Pilton NPC page places her at the World’s End Tavern in Shattrath City and mentions her pet Tinkerbell. The Paris Hilton identification is noted in user commentary on the page, rather than established there as an official developer explanation.

Lady La-La: Lady Gaga
Wowhead identifies Lady La-La as a Lady Gaga reference in its pop-culture references roundup. The clues include gold glasses, hair accessories, and a distinctive weapon; her abilities Briny Romance and Siren’s Song evoke Gaga’s “Bad Romance” and “Just Dance.” The questline is also called Lady La-La’s Medallion. Multiple clues make this a stronger identification than a name pun alone.
A related joke that is not a celebrity parody
Johnny Awesome: an exaggerated player character
Johnny Awesome belongs on a broader list of WoW pop-culture jokes, but not as a confirmed celebrity imitation. Wowhead describes him as a parody of an arrogant, heavily geared player character in its Johnny Awesome NPC page. His quests and appearances span Hillsbrad Foothills and later zones, including Feralas, Mount Hyjal, the Molten Front, and Draenor. Quest progression and phasing can affect when he appears, so a single location is not a reliable way to encounter every version of him.

Why this is not a definitive list of eight celebrity parodies
Wowhead’s roundup covers pop-culture references across music, film, and other categories; it does not establish the exact eight NPCs implied by a celebrity-parody count. The examples above support several different kinds of reference, but they do not justify filling out an eight-person list by treating fictional-character homages or player jokes as celebrity impersonations. Where an NPC’s location or availability depends on quest state, faction, or phasing, check the current in-game state rather than assuming the same access for every character.
