But the available sources establish a set of places to look—not eight individually verified videos with confirmed onboard footage and working playback. Rather than label un checked clips as recommendations, this guide points to official catalogs and the specific candidates they identify, and explains what to verify before adding them to a watchlist.
What makes FPV racing footage immersive?
In FPV, a camera on the drone sends a live view to goggles, a phone, or a tablet. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) says this can make it seem as if the pilot is on the drone itself. In a racing video, that sensation depends on whether the clip actually uses the pilot’s onboard feed—not simply an outside camera tracking the race.
For background on the view, EASA links two DroneMasters Junior Academy videos: “Drone Master – Introduction to FPV Drone Flying” and “Flying an FPV drone.” They are explainers and demonstrations, not confirmed racing-video picks. EASA’s FPV guidance

MultiGP video catalog
MultiGP’s official video page includes race coverage and documentaries. The identified titles are “Behind the Experience | 2024 International Open documentary,” “CHASE THE ACE | 2023 MultiGP Championship documentary,” “Drone Racing Champions Sharjah,” and “Le Mans of Drone Racing: 12 hours of Mayhem.” Its catalog also includes race streams for the 2025 Pro Spec World Championship, MultiGP Pro Class Championship, European Champs, and World Cup. A documentary or stream may mix onboard feeds with external shots, interviews, and event coverage, so check the individual video rather than assuming it stays in the pilot’s view.
DRL championship footage
The Drone Racing League’s official 2016 championship video is a concrete candidate: its description says it includes FPV feeds from pilots flying the Detroit championship course. DRL’s “The Sport of the Future” introduces the league and describes its races as FPV competition. Both are older examples; check that each video still plays and determine how much of its runtime uses the onboard view. Drone Racing League’s official video page

How to choose a video that feels like the pilot’s view
- Check the camera perspective. Look for an explicit pilot or onboard FPV feed. An external camera can show speed and maneuvering, but it does not put you in the pilot’s seat.
- Look for course context. Gates, turns, and overtakes are easier to follow when the video includes enough of the course to show where the drone is going.
- Know what kind of video you are opening. A full race, a short highlight, and a documentary offer different viewing experiences; documentaries may intercut racing with interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.
- Judge readability, not just speed. A stable, legible feed and helpful cuts or telemetry can make fast action easier to understand.
- Check publisher and event date. Official league or event uploads make it easier to identify the race and distinguish primary coverage from a repost.
- Confirm playback. Availability can change, and regional access may differ. Open the video itself rather than relying on a catalog title alone.
Watching FPV is different from flying FPV
Watching a recording does not require drone equipment. EASA’s safety guidance concerns operating a drone: it warns that FPV pilots have limited situational awareness and can become disoriented. Its guidance for EU operations discusses a visual observer and conditions for solo FPV flying and organized club races; those requirements are jurisdiction-specific, not universal rules. EASA advises: “Before you fly your FPV drone with goggles, you should first learn to fly your drone while you are watching it directly.”
In the United States, the FAA’s Part 107 summary dated July 6, 2026 says a visual observer must keep an FPV drone within unaided sight. The FAA also lists other operational restrictions, including avoiding manned aircraft and restrictions on flight over people. Before flying, check the current rules and airspace requirements for your location. FAA Part 107 waivers and operating information
