The most expensive arcade cabinets on this list are rare collectible machines, with reported estimates ranging from about $3,500 to $10,000. Those figures come from a 2023 collecting article—not a current price guide or a set of verified auction sales—so they are best treated as rough reference points, not guaranteed prices.

The eight arcade games and their reported estimates

Collectibles Insurance Services published the estimates below in 2023, crediting The Richest for the list. The article does not provide a valuation method or a consistent date for the figures. Four games share an approximate $5,000 estimate, and the ranges overlap, so the list should not be read as a precise market ranking.

  1. Atari Quantum — about $10,000

The guide describes Quantum as a vector-based game drawing on real-world physics. Its listed estimate is about $10,000. Collectibles Insurance Services’ 2023 article does not identify a completed sale supporting that figure.

  2. Sinistar (Duramold) — $5,000–$10,000

This is the Duramold cabinet version of Sinistar. The guide says the number still extant is unknown, so it does not establish a population count that would let buyers measure its scarcity. Its game description centers on piloting a spaceship to extract crystals. The listed range is $5,000 to $10,000.

  3. Atari Star Wars Cockpit — $3,000–$7,000

  4. Blaster (Cockpit) — about $5,000

This sit-in cabinet is listed at about $5,000. The guide claims that only five were produced, but supplies no independent support for that production figure; treat it as an unverified claim, not a confirmed count.

  5. Cosmic Chasm — about $5,000

The article associates Cosmic Chasm with Cinematronics and 1983, and cites rarity and demand as value factors. It estimates the machine at about $5,000.

How to interpret these arcade-machine prices

These are estimates reproduced in a secondary collecting article, not verified recent sale prices, appraisals, or figures established on a shared basis. The article offers no valuation methodology or dated transactions for the eight cabinets. It also does not provide a complete census: for Sinistar Duramold, it explicitly says the remaining number is unknown.

That means the estimates cannot establish what a particular machine is worth today. A cabinet’s price can change with its condition, working status, version, provenance, seller, location, and repair or transport needs. The listed ranges also overlap: a $5,000 estimate for one cabinet cannot be reliably compared with another without knowing what condition and sale circumstances the estimate assumes.

What to check before buying a collectible cabinet

  • Condition and operation: Inspect the cabinet and confirm what works. A machine needing repairs is not directly comparable with a functioning, refurbished example.
  • Price evidence: Look for recent sales of the same game and cabinet version. A seller’s asking price is not proof of what buyers have paid.
  • Seller and provenance: Check the seller’s reputation and ask about the machine’s history. If it is described as refurbished, clarify what work was done.
  • Repair and moving costs: Include likely repairs and the practical costs of transporting a large cabinet in your budget.
  • Room and power: Measure the space and plan for a suitable electrical outlet before acquiring a cabinet; large machines can be difficult to accommodate.
  • Care: The collecting guide recommends dusting, using a mild cleanser safe for the particular machine, and seeking professional assistance when a cabinet malfunctions.

Collectibles Insurance Services also advises collecting for enjoyment rather than assuming a strong investment return. Its article discusses coverage for coin-operated devices, but does not guarantee that a particular cabinet is eligible; owners should check terms with an insurer.
