The available sources do not verify the nine-player shortlist promised by this title, so there is no reliable basis for naming nine signings without guessing. One adjacent FM24 guide does identify Crewe defender Zac Williams as a lower-league wonderkid and says he could be signed for £180,000 in its first-season setup. That is a historical in-game claim, not a guaranteed fee or availability in every save.
What the available FM24 guides actually establish
FMBrotherhood published “13 Best League 1 Signings in FM24” on November 11, 2023. It is a different guide, with 13 recommended signings rather than the nine players in this article’s title. Its list should not be presented as the missing nine-player shortlist.
Zac Williams is one supported option
The FMBrotherhood guide describes Williams as a Crewe player in League Two and a lower-league wonderkid at the time. It says he could be signed for £180,000 in its first-season setup and lists him as capable of playing centre-back, left-back or left wing-back. These details describe that guide’s FM24 setup; the fee and availability are not real-world transfer terms or a promise for another save.
How to interpret “wonderkid” in FM24
FM Scout’s FM24 wonderkids list, updated April 10, 2024 for patch 24.4, uses a specific definition: players must have potential ability of at least 150 and be no older than 20 on July 3, 2023 in-game. Its recommendation rating is the author’s personal assessment, not the game’s potential-ability figure.
#1 Best Overall
Potential ability is not a guaranteed development outcome. FM Scout notes that some players’ potential values are randomized, so the same player may have a different ceiling across saves. A high rating on a list is therefore a scouting lead, not a guarantee that a player will reach a particular level.
Why a player may not appear in your save
FM Scout says its list was assembled after loading more than 476,000 players; a user’s save may load fewer. A player’s absence from your save does not necessarily mean the list is wrong: visibility can depend on database size and setup.

Database choice matters too. Sortitoutsi’s FM24 database page describes the original database as reflecting the official game database and also offers updated database content with transfer and promotion/relegation changes. Check which database you selected before relying on a player’s club, league or availability; advice based on the original FM24 database may not match a community update.

- Williams is the one specific lower-league target supported by the adjacent signing guide; verify his club, asking price and availability in your own save.
- Use wonderkid rankings as a starting point, then scout players in-game rather than treating potential or recommendation ratings as fixed outcomes.
