Its innate skill, Feeble Lord’s Frenzied Flame, can build Madness on enemies—but also on the wielder—so its distinctive effect comes with a risk.
Where to find Nanaya’s Torch
The torch is in Midra’s Manse, in the Abyssal Woods, and is available in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The item page and a separate Game8 guide both place it in the manse’s library area and describe a lever-and-bookcase route, though their directions differ in detail. The item page’s location notes begin at Midra’s Library Site of Grace:
- From Midra’s Library, explore the rafters and bookcases toward the western or northern side of the library.
- Look for a lever that raises a bookcase. The item-page route reaches the lever by dropping west of the grace, entering a room with a painting, and finding an illusory wall and ladder.
- Use the raised bookcase to reach the body holding the torch in the manse.
Because the available descriptions do not match in every route detail, use the in-game layout or a current map to confirm the exact path if these landmarks do not line up in your version.
Nanaya’s Torch stats and requirements

These are the values listed on the item page, not independently tested results. Treat them as listed base data rather than assuming they remain unchanged across upgrades or game patches. The same page lists weight 3.5; another guide result gives a different figure, so the value is best read as source-specific rather than universal.
What Feeble Lord’s Frenzied Flame does
Feeble Lord’s Frenzied Flame is the torch’s innate skill. It emits frenzied flame while the skill input is held and can be used while moving, according to the skill entry. The skill can build Madness on targets, but it also causes Madness buildup on the user. That self-inflicted buildup is an important trade-off when deciding how long to hold the skill.

When comparing the torch with another weapon or build, consider its DLC acquisition route, Strength/Dexterity/Intelligence/Faith investment, physical and fire damage profile, skill control and range, FP use, and the risk of building Madness on yourself. The cited material does not establish a controlled performance comparison against other weapons.

“A torch made by attaching a dying flame of frenzy to a small spinal column. In a distant land, in an age long past, was born a man who failed to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame. All that remains of him is cradled gently by Nanaya.”

This is the item’s in-game description, transcribed on the Nanaya’s Torch item page. Literally, it describes a dying flame of frenzy attached to a small spinal column, an unnamed man who failed to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame, and Nanaya cradling what remains of him. The passage does not identify the man or provide a complete account of his history, so naming him as Midra or another character goes beyond what this text establishes.
