To earn the Archer maister’s approval in Dragon’s Dogma 2, complete Glyndwr’s quests Gift of the Bow and A Trial of Archery. Rescue his sister Doireann from the Ancestral Chamber, then speak with Taliesin in Sacred Arbor to receive the Archer maister teaching, Heavenly Shot.
Start Gift of the Bow in Vernworth
- Find Glyndwr near Roderick’s Smithy in Vernworth’s Merchant Quarter.
- Give him a human-made bow to begin Gift of the Bow. The walkthroughs report that a bow bought from the smithy works, so an inexpensive one is sufficient.
- Follow Glyndwr to the Mountain Ruins and complete his target-shooting practice. This finishes the first quest.
Begin A Trial of Archery
After Gift of the Bow, return to the area near Roderick’s Smithy. Glyndwr should approach and invite you to A Trial of Archery. If he does not appear, try resting to pass time, then check the area again.

Rescue Doireann from the Ancestral Chamber
- Meet Glyndwr at the agreed location and travel with him to Sacred Arbor.
- Speak with his father, Taliesin, at the Arborist’s Home. He explains that Doireann has been taken to the Ancestral Chamber.
- Make your way through the chamber to the room where Taliesin is fighting an ogre. Glyndwr shoots the ogre’s hand, making it drop Doireann.
- Pick Doireann up and carry her out of the chamber.
- Speak with Taliesin to complete A Trial of Archery.
Claim the Archer maister teaching
Speak with Taliesin again after completing the quest to receive Heavenly Shot. Taliesin—not Glyndwr—is the Archer maister. If Taliesin does not offer the teaching immediately, rest and speak with him again. The available guides do not establish a specific affinity threshold.
Quest rewards
Guides list 16,000 Gold, a Repeller Bow, and a Portcrystal among the rewards for A Trial of Archery. These are in-game rewards; the bow is not a real-world purchase recommendation.
