Co-op missions and free-roaming
Ubisoft’s 2020 post-launch announcement says co-op missions support two to four players, Tactical Ops teams have four players, and squads of four can explore London together. These are online modes; an internet connection is required.
Do not confuse co-op with Spiderbot Arena
Spiderbot Arena is a separate player-versus-player mode that Ubisoft described as supporting four to eight participants. That larger participant count is not the co-op group limit.

Which platforms support cross-play?

How to check if your group can play together
- Identify each player’s platform. Note the exact PC storefront or whether console players are on PlayStation or Xbox. PC storefronts listed by Ubisoft are Epic Games Store, Steam, and Ubisoft Connect.
- Make sure everyone is joining the online mode. The co-op missions and activities are online content, and Ubisoft says an internet connection is mandatory for multiplayer.
- Check the cross-play setting if matchmaking fails. Ubisoft says cross-play is enabled by default. If the setting has been changed, review it in the game’s options and confirm everyone is attempting to join a compatible platform group.
Does Watch Dogs: Legion support cross-progression?
Yes. Ubisoft Help also says Watch Dogs: Legion supports cross-progression. The cited guidance does not detail every account, platform, or save-transfer condition, so consult Ubisoft’s support page for the applicable setup.
