GrimKeep blends a grim nightmare-fairytale setting with turn-based dice-building, so “games like it” can mean two different things: a similarly bleak atmosphere or comparable build-and-choice strategy. The one released recommendation verified here, Curse of the Dead Gods, is a strong match for the mood and punishing runs, but not for the dice mechanics. GrimKeep itself is still upcoming, with the developer currently scheduling it for Steam and PS5 on November 30, 2026.
What makes a game feel like GrimKeep?
Resolution Games describes GrimKeep as “a roguelite dice-builder in a nightmare fairytale.” Its turn-based runs revolve around gathering items, rolling dice to activate item bonuses and multipliers, and configuring dice with effects such as poison, healing, or gold. Tactical choices include defense, stuns, and healing.

The structure also includes map-path decisions and risk/reward crossroads. The developer says unlocks persist between runs, which is why it uses “roguelite” rather than “roguelike.” On its current official site, Resolution Games advertises 200+ items, 60+ unique monsters, seven playable heroes, seven dice types, and 30 hero skills; these are developer-published content counts, not independently audited totals.

- Perfect puzzling: Puzzles slowly increase in complexity enabling seamless progression and rewarding exploration.
Its monster-filled temple, lethal traps, weapons, relics, and run-shaping curses make it a natural pick if the grim fantasy tone and dangerous repeated expeditions are what appeal to you about GrimKeep. The important difference is combat: Curse of the Dead Gods is real-time action, not a turn-based dice-builder with item combinations. Choose it for atmosphere and demanding runs, not as a mechanical substitute.

Quick Recap
Which option should you choose?
- Want something released on PC with a bleak fantasy mood? Try Curse of the Dead Gods, keeping in mind that its combat is real-time.
