How the two-currency progression system works

The no-code loop is straightforward: earn Cash by fighting, use it to make the active attempt last longer, then use the Gems earned at the end to expand your options in future runs. Cash and Gems serve different time horizons, so spending one does not replace the other.
Earn and spend Cash during a run
Defeated monkeys add Cash, and you can invest it before the match ends. The guide says Cash can raise your weapon tier and health, as well as pay for grenades and barricades. Grenades and barricades have fixed costs and are not independently upgradeable, according to that guide.
Choose upgrades for the threat in front of you
- Weapon tier: Increase combat capability for the rest of the current attempt.
- Health: Add staying power when taking damage is becoming a risk.
- Grenades: Use area damage when monkeys cluster together.
- Barricades: Place them as a defensive aid; they are a fixed-cost purchase, not an upgrade path.
AllThingsHow recommends spending Cash before difficulty spikes rather than holding it indefinitely. That is a guide’s strategy advice, not an official developer rule: weigh an immediate purchase against what you expect to face next.

Turn run rewards into permanent unlocks with Gems
When a run ends, the guide says your Gem reward depends on how many monkeys and waves you cleared. In the hub, spend those Gems to unlock Weapons and Classes. Those unlocks are for later attempts, unlike Cash purchases that help only in the match where you earned them.

Which unlocks should you prioritize?
The guide recommends putting Gems toward higher-tier Weapons so you spend less time relying on the starting handgun tier. Treat that as a suggested priority rather than an official recommendation; the best choice depends on what you want to try and how you play.
The guide names six hub Classes: Survivor, Medic, Engineer, Juggernaut, Bomber, and Outlaw. It does not establish one as the best choice for every player, so choose based on the style you want to bring into a run.

Improve your odds of earning more across runs
Because the guide ties run-end Gems to monkeys and waves cleared, the practical route to more persistent currency is to survive and progress farther. Its tactical suggestions are:
- Move through open areas to reduce the chance of being surrounded.
- Let monkeys cluster before using area damage such as a grenade.
- Prioritize fast monkeys that could cut off your escape route.

What “without codes” means here
This progression route does not require a code: Cash comes from defeating monkeys, and Gems come from run results. The official Roblox description separately advertises code MONKEYS for 1,000 Gems, but that listing does not explain ordinary gameplay earnings or confirm whether code redemption is currently available in-game. This article’s steps rely on the code-free gameplay loop.
