The dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed advertises higher-resolution visuals, an improved framerate, Joy-Con 2 mouse-style controls, and the Costume Pack DLC. The original Switch edition is also supported on Switch 2, but Nintendo says its behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch; that compatibility does not establish that the original edition receives the dedicated version’s enhancements.

Are the Switch 2 graphics and framerate better?
Nintendo and publisher THQ Nordic say the dedicated Switch 2 edition has higher-resolution visuals and an improved framerate. Those are qualitative product claims, not published performance measurements: the official pages do not state resolution, frame-rate targets, or comparative test results. It is reasonable to treat them as advertised improvements, but not to infer a specific resolution or frame rate.
THQ Nordic announced the Switch 2 edition as available on October 6, 2026, and listed suggested retail prices of €39.99, $39.99, £34.99, AU$59.95, and ¥5,170. These are publisher-suggested prices in the announcement, not a check of current retailer prices: THQ Nordic’s announcement.

Can you play the original Switch version on Switch 2?
Yes. Nintendo’s US product listing marks the original Switch edition as “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch.” That means the original release is playable as a supported Switch game; it does not mean the game automatically becomes the dedicated Switch 2 edition.
Nintendo’s broader compatibility guidance notes that some Switch games may not be supported or fully compatible and directs players to publishers for details on non-Nintendo software. For this specific title, use the game’s listing for its stated status: Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility guidance.

What is the game, and does the adventure change?
Both releases are the same single-player 3D platforming adventure. Mickey explores Wasteland, using paint and thinner to affect the environment. THQ Nordic also highlights dash, ground pound, and sprint as movement features of Rebrushed. The Switch 2 distinction described by Nintendo and the publisher is presentation, control options, and included DLC—not a different story or adventure.
