In a review published October 2, 2026, Joshua Hawthorn, Managing Editor at What’s It Like?, wrote: “When it comes to performance, throughout my playthrough I didn’t encounter any noticeable framerate hitches or visual bugs.” The review discloses that the publisher supplied a review copy. A September 20, 2026 review by Andreas Erber identifies the test platform as Switch 2 and the game version as 0.16.10. It does not provide measured performance results or identify a setting that fixes stutter. A Polish-language review excerpt reports severe slowness and input lag on the original Nintendo Switch. That is an individual impression about the older console, so it should not be treated as evidence of Switch 2 performance. Read the original Switch review excerpt.
Troubleshoot the game on Switch 2
Work through these steps in order. Nintendo lists them as general troubleshooting for downloaded Switch 2 software that freezes, stops responding, or has other problems; none is a confirmed Streets of Survival-specific remedy. Nintendo’s full troubleshooting guide.

- Restart the console. Use the console’s Power menu to restart, then open the game again and see whether the problem remains.
- Check for system and game updates. To check the game, highlight it on the HOME Menu without starting it, press + or –, then choose Software Update → Via the Internet. Check for a Switch 2 system update as well. The documented 0.16.10 test version is from September 20, 2026; it does not establish whether a later patch is available.
- Scan the game for corrupted data. Open System Settings → Data Management → Manage Software, select The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival, and choose Scan for Corrupted Data.
- Test system memory if the game is on microSD. If the issue persists, follow Nintendo’s card troubleshooting guidance; one diagnostic option is removing the card and downloading the software directly to system memory. This checks whether the storage path is involved—it is not evidence that buying a different card will increase frame rate.
- Delete and redownload the software if the earlier checks fail. Nintendo includes redownloading among its general troubleshooting steps. Make sure you can access the account used to obtain the game before deleting it.
Settings and changes that are not established fixes
A review reports that screen shake can be reduced. That may make the presentation more comfortable, but the available evidence does not show that changing it improves frame rate or removes stutter.
There is also no evidence here that switching between handheld and docked play, using a different controller, adding a cooling accessory, or installing an optimization app improves this game’s performance. Avoid treating those changes—or a new microSD Express card—as a proven frame-rate fix.

How to tell whether the problem is resolved
After each troubleshooting change, return to the same part of the game where you noticed the issue and check whether the stutter still occurs. If it continues after updating, scanning, and testing the storage path, note when it happens and your installed game version before contacting Nintendo or the game’s support channel. The cited Switch 2 reviews do not provide objective measurements that can diagnose an individual console or play session.
