Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsYou can play some PlayStation games on PC legally in three ways: buy a native PC release, stream eligible games with PlayStation Plus Premium, or use PS Remote Play to stream from a PS4 or PS5 you can access. They are not interchangeable: PC releases are separate products, Premium only includes eligible catalog games, and Remote Play requires a console.
Which route fits your situation?
| Your situation | Route to consider | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| You want to install and run a game directly on PC | Buy a native PC release | Confirm the exact game and edition on Sony’s PC list and the retailer page, then check system requirements. |
| You do not have a console and are considering a subscription | PlayStation Plus Premium PC streaming | Confirm the game is streamable on PC in your regional catalog; check current plan price, app requirements, and your connection. |
| You already have access to a PS4 or PS5 | PS Remote Play | Check game compatibility, console availability, network quality, and the USB controller requirement for Windows. |
“PlayStation exclusives” does not mean every PlayStation title has a PC version or is available to stream. Sony’s PlayStation PC games list is a live, region-specific listing; check the exact title, edition, storefront, and local availability before paying.
Buy a native PC release
This is the route for playing a supported game installed on your computer, rather than streamed from a console or service. Sony lists selected PC releases and links to storefronts such as Steam and Epic Games. Its listed examples include Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Until Dawn, UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection, and The Last of Us Part II Remastered. Availability can change, so check the current listing and retailer page for the game you want.
PC and console editions are separate purchases
Sony says that “the PC and console versions of PlayStation Studios games are different products.” A PS4 or PS5 purchase therefore does not unlock the PC edition. Sony also says save data cannot currently transfer between PlayStation Studios console and PC versions. See Sony’s PC games FAQ for its current guidance.

- Model Number CFI-2000
- Includes DualSense Wireless Controller, 1TB SSD, 2 Horizontal Stand Feet, HDMI Cable, AC power cord, USB cable, printed materials, ASTRO’s PLAYROOM (Pre-installed game)

Check requirements and controls title by title
System requirements vary by game; use that title’s current store listing and Sony support page rather than treating one game’s specs as a general benchmark. For example, Sony’s God of War Ragnarök PC support entry lists a GTX 1060 or RX 5500 XT graphics card, 8 GB RAM, and 190 GB SSD storage for its minimum 1080p/30 fps average-performance target.
Native PC titles can support mouse and keyboard as well as a range of controllers, but support varies by game. Sony says wired DualSense use is available for PlayStation Studios PC games; DualSense-specific features and wireless support vary. A controller is not mandatory for every native PC release.

Stream eligible games with PlayStation Plus Premium
Sony allows Premium members to stream PS4 Game Catalog titles and selected Classics Catalog titles to a compatible Windows PC through its free app. Some PS4 Game Catalog titles are not streamable. This is subscription access to eligible games, not a way to play a console purchase on PC; verify the exact game’s PC streaming eligibility in the current catalog before subscribing for it.
Requirements and availability
Sony’s PlayStation Plus overview specifies a PlayStation Network account with registered payment details, an active Premium membership, a compatible controller, broadband of at least 5 Mbps recommended, and PC app use for people aged 18 or older. Its PC support page sets 5 Mbps as the minimum and recommends a wired connection. Sony’s pages differ on Windows versions: the support page lists Windows 8.1 or 10, while the newer overview specifies Windows 10. Check the current app download and system requirements rather than relying on the legacy Windows 8.1 listing.

- 🚀 Storage: Custom 825GB SSD
- 🚀 RAM: 16GB GDDR6
- 🚀 GPU: 10.3 teraflop RDNA 2 GPU
Catalog selection and membership pricing depend on region and can change. As listed on Sony’s US PlayStation Plus page, Premium costs $19.99 for one month, $54.99 for three months, or $159.99 for twelve months; these are US prices, not universal rates. Check the current US catalog and membership plans or your local PlayStation checkout page for current availability and price.
Streaming trade-offs
- A stable internet connection is necessary; the app streams rather than installing a PC version.
- Game add-ons and DLC cannot be used while streaming a PS Plus game, according to Sony.
- The PC app does not support Party Chat.
- Catalog games can leave the service, ending access even if your membership is still active.
Stream a console you can access with PS Remote Play
PS Remote Play lets you view and control a PS4 or PS5 on a Windows PC over a network. You need access to the console, and the game must be compatible with Remote Play. This option is useful when you want to play a compatible game on your computer screen without buying a PC edition; it does not remove the console requirement or turn the game into a native PC release.
Rank #4
- Enjoy smooth and fluid high frame rate gameplay at up to 120 fps for compatible games, with support for 120Hz output on 4K displays.
- PS5 consoles support an 8K output, so you can play games on your 4320p resolution display.
- Maximize your play sessions with near-instant load times for installed PS5 games.
- 825GB SSD allows ultra-fast load times, while 3-D audio output produces crisp acoustics.
- Explore uncharted virtual territories and slay dragons with this sleek Sony PlayStation 5 gaming console.
Connection and controller requirements
Sony lists 5 Mbps as the minimum connection speed for Remote Play and recommends 15 Mbps for a better experience. Its Windows PC guidance says to connect a compatible DUALSHOCK 4, DualSense, or DualSense Edge controller by USB. Check Sony’s current setup instructions for your console and PC before connecting.
Games and equipment Remote Play cannot handle
Sony excludes games that require a VR headset or additional peripherals, as well as games that must be streamed through PS Plus Premium. Remote Play is therefore not a substitute for either a native PC release or Premium streaming when a game falls into one of those categories.

What to verify before choosing
- Exact game and edition: A console release, a PC release, and a streamable catalog entry are distinct forms of access.
- Region: PC storefront availability, streaming catalogs, and subscription prices may differ by country.
- How you want to play: Native PC releases run on the computer; Premium and Remote Play stream over a network.
- Hardware and controls: Check a PC edition’s requirements separately; streaming routes have their own app, controller, and connection requirements.
- Access duration: A PC purchase and an eligible subscription catalog game do not offer the same access model; catalog selection can change.
