One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchStart in the game’s title screen or options menu and look for separate controls for voice or dialogue, subtitles, text, or language. If the game does not offer the choices you need, check its platform or launcher settings. There is no universal menu path, and a game may not let you mix spoken dialogue and subtitles in different languages.
Start with the game’s own settings
From the title screen or main menu, open Options, Settings, or a similarly named menu. Check for controls labelled Audio, Voice, Dialogue, Subtitles, Text, or Language. A game may put voice and subtitle choices in different sections—or combine them into one language setting.
Some games expose language controls only from the title menu. Konami’s support guidance says, “You can change the language from the main menu,” and notes that changing the console or computer language is not necessary for that process. If you cannot find the option while playing, return to the title screen and check there. Konami: How to change the language
Can dialogue and subtitles use different languages?
Only if the game provides separate controls for spoken audio and on-screen text. Look for distinct voice or dialogue and subtitle settings; a single language selector may change both together. Supported combinations also depend on the particular game and edition, so do not assume that a language offered for menus or subtitles is also available for voice acting.

Publisher instructions show why it is worth checking the individual title. Konami’s support page notes that some language settings are available only from the Title Menu. Square Enix’s FAQ for Secret of Mana says voiceover can be changed through the options menu during gameplay, but on Steam the subtitle selection cannot be changed after it is made at the beginning of the game. If there is no suitable in-game option, check the platform
Platform settings can affect a game’s language, but each platform works differently. A system or launcher language is not a guarantee that the game supports that language; confirm the game’s supported languages and consult its own instructions.

Steam
- Open Library and right-click the game.
- Select Properties, then open Language.
- Choose a language listed for that game. Steam may download additional language files before you can play.
Steam’s guidance says, “If the game supports the language you have selected, files for that language may need to be downloaded before you can play.” Some third-party games manage language independently of Steam’s setting, and not every game offers every language. Check the game’s Steam store listing and in-game options. Steam Support: Steam and Games – Language Settings
Nintendo Switch
Switch software uses the console’s selected language when that language is supported by the game. This system-language behavior does not establish that voice and subtitles can be set independently. For separate audio and text choices, check the game’s options and official support page. Nintendo Support: Can I Play My Game in Another Language?

Check timing, downloads, and restart requirements
Before confirming a language choice or starting a new game, check whether it can be changed later. The timing varies by title: a setting may be available during gameplay, only at the title screen, or only during initial setup. The Secret of Mana Steam example shows that voiceover and subtitles can have different rules within the same game.
