Pass access depends on an active subscription
For the included Fortnite passes, Crew subscribers can claim premium rewards while their subscription is active. Epic’s policy, introduced for new subscribers on December 1, 2024, says premium rewards on the relevant passes require an active subscription; rewards already earned are kept. A canceled subscription does not keep unlocking premium rewards after its active period ends. Read Epic’s policy announcement.
When Crew may suit a player
Crew is most relevant if you want several of its included passes or other benefits and expect to use them. It is not automatically a cash saving: compare the subscription with what you would actually buy or claim, and account for how long you need an active subscription to unlock premium rewards.

How the Battle Pass pays back its V-Bucks
The Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks and awards 800 V-Bucks for completion, according to Epic’s March 2026 pricing announcement. That is enough to buy another Battle Pass at the same price, provided you complete the pass and the price remains 800 V-Bucks. Players progress by earning XP in any Fortnite experience. Epic explains the price and reward.
Current pass timing
The current Override Battle Pass page says the pass ends November 1, 2026, Eastern Time, and allows players to earn up to 800 V-Bucks. Check the live page for the current season’s timing and details: Override Battle Pass.

U.S. V-Bucks pack prices
Epic’s March 10, 2026 announcement lists these U.S. prices, with the changes taking effect March 19, 2026:
| V-Bucks | U.S. listed price |
|---|---|
| 800 | $8.99 |
| 2,400 | $22.99 |
| 4,500 | $36.99 |
| 12,500 | $89.99 |
These are U.S. figures, not a worldwide price list. Epic says regional values may vary, and the amount shown can also depend on platform. Check your own platform’s checkout before budgeting. See Epic’s announcement.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Which option should you choose?
- Choose Crew if you will use multiple included passes or benefits and are comfortable keeping an active subscription while claiming premium rewards.
- Choose the Battle Pass if seasonal rewards are your main goal and you expect to earn enough XP to complete it and reclaim its 800-V-Buck cost.
- Buy V-Bucks if you want currency for eligible purchases without subscribing or buying a pass. Compare the pack price with the amount you need, using your own checkout price.
Gift cards and older price claims
Epic says existing V-Bucks gift cards continue to redeem at the value printed on them. This does not establish which retailers currently have stock or whether a particular seller is authorized. Check Epic’s gift-card note.
Prices and benefits have changed: Epic announced on March 10, 2026 that the V-Bucks changes would take effect March 19. The Crew grant moved from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks, while the Battle Pass price and completion award moved to 800. Older pages that list 1,000 V-Bucks for those current benefits do not reflect the terms documented in Epic’s current offer and announcement.
