SILENT HILL f’s publisher, Konami, warns that the game depicts gender discrimination, child abuse, bullying, drug-induced hallucinations, torture and graphic violence. Konami also explains that the story is set in 1960s Japan and that some depictions draw on the customs and culture of that period, while clarifying that they do not reflect the developers’ or other contributors’ views.

What does the Silent Hill f content warning say?

Konami’s official warning reads: “This game contains depictions of gender discrimination, child abuse, bullying, drug-induced hallucinations, torture, and graphic violence.” The same notice appears on Konami’s support page and is reproduced on the game’s Steam listing.

The PlayStation US listing includes the warning and adds practical advice: “If you feel uncomfortable at any point while playing, please take a break from playing or speak to someone you trust.”

The warning is explicit about a broad set of themes, but it is not a scene-by-scene inventory. It names categories of content rather than identifying when they occur, how they are depicted, or how often they appear.

Why does Konami mention 1960s Japanese culture?

The notice continues: “This game is set in Japan in the 1960s and contains depictions based on the customs and culture of that time. These depictions do not reflect the opinions or values of the developers or any individuals involved.” This is a disclaimer about depictions in a fictional game; it should not be read as a claim that the game represents all Japanese people or customs.

Konami describes SILENT HILL f as a psychological horror story set in the remote mountain town of Ebisugaoka. Its protagonist, teenager Shimizu Hinako, faces expectations from friends, family and society. That story context helps explain why the warning names discrimination and abuse alongside violence, though Konami does not give a separate rationale for each category.

Is the warning the same as an age rating?

No. Konami’s notice is descriptive content information; age ratings and rating-board summaries are separate information produced through rating systems. The warning alone does not establish the game’s age category or provide a formal rating-board scene summary.

The ESRB explains that its process differs for physical and digital releases, and that IARC-rated digital games do not receive ESRB Rating Summaries. That general explanation is not a game-specific rating. A game-specific ESRB summary was not established here, so the publisher’s warning is the grounded source for the named content categories.
