The guide describes a deadline in in-game days, but the number of rests players report being able to take varies, so there is no reliable universal rest-count promise here. Treat ordinary inn and house rests as costly rather than assuming you have a set number available.

How can objectives affect the red fog?
Prima Games reports, based on player reports, that evacuating the cities and destroying all non-final beacons stops fog progression. The guide also says you can delay activating the final beacon to explore. Because this behavior is reported by a guide rather than documented in the official manual, treat it as a reported way to change the pressure, not a guarantee for every situation.

Prima Games says the fog can take over the map and that missing the deadline means starting from scratch. Gamer Guides likewise describes a pseudo time limit and says failure requires starting again. In practical terms, ordinary rests carry a run-ending risk if you let the threat progress too far; avoid spending rests casually and prioritize the objectives that may halt it.

- Need to recover? Use the Seafloor Shrine bed if available; Gamer Guides reports that time does not pass there.
- Considering an ordinary inn or house? Assume the rest advances the red fog, as Prima Games reports.
- Still working through the region? Focus on evacuations and non-final beacons before relying on extra time; Prima Games reports fog progression stops after those objectives.
- Near the final beacon? Prima Games says activating it can be delayed while you explore, so consider finishing remaining tasks first.
