Recent reports say Sony Interactive Entertainment device models CFI-Y2000 and CFI-Y2105 appeared in Wi-Fi Alliance certifications, renewing speculation about a PlayStation Portal refresh. The filings, as described in those reports, do not identify the devices as Portal models or confirm an OLED screen. “PlayStation Portal 2.0” and “Portal OLED” remain unconfirmed rumor labels, not announced product names.
What the new filings do—and do not—tell us
PlayStationInfo.de and PlayStation Universe reported on October 6, 2026, that Sony device models CFI-Y2000 and CFI-Y2105 appeared in Wi-Fi Alliance certifications. Both reports connect the model numbers to speculation about a Portal revision, but neither establishes the product identity or display technology. The Wi-Fi Alliance records described in the coverage do not name the PlayStation Portal or specify OLED.

The Portal connection is an inference from the model-number family, not confirmation from Sony. The reports also provide no confirmed information about a successor’s screen resolution or refresh rate, battery, processor, price, or release date. Treat each as an open question rather than a leaked specification.
PlayStationInfo.de’s October 6 report explicitly notes that the certification does not identify the display type and that Sony has not confirmed the rumor. PlayStation Universe’s coverage likewise presents the Portal link as speculation, not an announcement.

What is confirmed about the current PlayStation Portal
Sony currently sells the PlayStation Portal Remote Player. Sony’s product page describes Remote Play and cloud-streaming features; its instruction manual identifies the current device as model CFI-Y1001. Those confirmed details should not be confused with claims about CFI-Y2000 or CFI-Y2105.
A March 17, 2026 software update added a 1080p High Quality mode for Remote Play and cloud streaming, alongside user-experience refinements. This is a software feature for the current Portal, not evidence that its screen hardware changed or that a new model is imminent. Sony also reported 162% year-over-year growth in PlayStation Portal cloud-streaming monthly users in January — Sony Interactive Entertainment, 2026 (data as of December 2025 to January 2026). The company said over 50% of PS Portal users were PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers — Sony Interactive Entertainment, December 2025 to January 2026. These engagement figures provide context for the product, but do not confirm new hardware.

If you want a Remote Play or cloud-streaming handheld now, the current PlayStation Portal Remote Player is the only model in this story with confirmed product details. If an OLED panel or other new hardware is essential to your decision, wait for Sony to announce a model and publish its specifications before comparing it or making plans around price and availability. The certification reports do not establish when a possible revision might launch—or whether these devices are Portal models at all.

What to compare if Sony announces a refresh
There is no confirmed successor specification set to compare with the CFI-Y1001. If Sony announces a revision, check its official specifications for the details that would determine whether it is a meaningful upgrade:
- Display technology, resolution, and refresh rate
- Wireless connectivity and battery life
- Remote Play and cloud-streaming support
- Price and regional availability
Until Sony identifies the certified devices and confirms their hardware, those are questions—not features of a “Portal 2.0.”
