If a Discord server is impersonating a person, group, or organization to deceive or harm people, report the specific message showing the impersonation—not just the server name. In Discord, select that message, choose Report Message, then choose the type of abuse. If you may have exposed your password or lost access to your account, handle account security and recovery separately.
Report the message that shows the scam or impersonation
- Find the message that demonstrates the deceptive or harmful impersonation. Discord’s impersonation guidance directs users to report the specific message where the conduct occurs; a server name alone may not show what happened.
- Select the message, choose Report Message, and select the type of abuse that best fits. These are the reporting steps described in Discord’s account compromise help article. Labels and screens may change, so follow the current in-app prompts if they differ.
- Keep the message link if the app makes it available. Discord’s guidance for parents and guardians says a message link can be copied by holding the message on iOS or Android, or right-clicking it on desktop. That advice is from its parent-and-guardian guidance; for other reports, use the evidence requested in the current in-app flow.
Report responsibly
Submit a report only for content you believe violates Discord’s rules. Don’t send duplicate reports about the same issue, make a false or malicious report, or organize others to report the same content. Discord warns that repeated violations of its reporting rules may result in losing access to reporting features; see its reporting guidance.

If you clicked a link or your account may be compromised
Reporting abusive content does not secure or recover an account. If you clicked a suspicious link, shared credentials, or suspect someone accessed your account, stop engaging with the suspected scammer and use Discord’s compromised-account support guidance. Discord recommends resetting your password, enabling multi-factor authentication, and removing authorized apps you do not recognize. Its guidance also recommends running a Windows Defender scan for Windows users.
Be wary of unsolicited messages asking for personal information, payment, or credential changes. Discord says, “Discord will never ask you for your password or account token.” Its official-messages guidance says genuine Discord messages have an OFFICIAL badge in the member list and DM, and an official-message notice at the start of the conversation. They cannot be answered through the usual chat input.

Discord’s scam and phishing-bot guidance advises users to ignore bot DMs that offer something or ask them to click a link, and not to add suspicious bots to a server. Report bots that ask to be added or direct you to suspicious links to Trust & Safety.

A username or server name that contains a trademarked word is not automatically trademark infringement. Discord distinguishes deceptive or harmful impersonation, which users should report through the in-app message flow, from trademark complaints. For the latter, Discord says a trademark holder should provide evidence of specific commercial or misleading use; a name resemblance by itself is not enough. See Discord’s impersonation guidance.
