A possible PS5 revival of inFamous has been reported, but Sony has not confirmed remakes of the first two games. The claim traces to a second-hand, uncorroborated tip reported in May 2026; it does not establish a release date, technical details, or even that the project is still moving forward.
Which PS3 games are rumored for PS5?
The rumor concerns the first two inFamous games, originally released for PlayStation 3. A May 16, 2026 report by PlayStation LifeStyle said Video Games Chronicles journalist Jordan Middler had been told by a source that an inFamous revival was in the works, with remakes of those games implied. Middler reportedly cautioned that “things could have changed,” and the report stressed that the claim was not corroborated. Read the report.
That is the extent of what the report establishes: it is not a Sony announcement or confirmation from a developer. It does not specify an edition, technical scope, confirmed platforms beyond its PS5 framing, or a release window.
Are inFamous 1 and 2 coming to PS5?
There is no confirmed answer in the available reporting. The story describes a possible revival and implied remakes, not a formally announced pair of PS5 releases. It also says Sucker Punch, which developed the original games, reportedly was not involved in the possible project; that detail is itself part of the unconfirmed reporting, not a confirmed production credit.

The report said inFamous: Second Son was the only game in the series PS5 players could then purchase. That does not mean the PS3 originals are currently available as PS5 remakes, and the report provides no preorder or availability information for the rumored titles.
Is Sony remaking the first two inFamous games?
Not according to any confirmation cited in the May report. Its wording describes a source’s claim about a revival and suggests remakes, but no official Sony statement is presented. Until a publisher or developer announces the games, treat “remakes” as a description of the rumor rather than a confirmed product or technical plan.

How does this compare with a confirmed PS5 rebuild?
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced is a separate, officially announced example of an older action-adventure being rebuilt for PS5 and PS5 Pro. Ubisoft technical staff said the game was rebuilt from the ground up on a newer version of the Anvil engine. PlayStation Blog said it was set to launch July 9, 2026; because that date has passed, consult a current listing for its availability rather than assuming it is on sale. This announcement does not corroborate the inFamous rumor. Read the PlayStation Blog announcement.

They are a separate story, not part of the inFamous action-adventure rumor. Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops II are first-person shooters. A June 9, 2026 report discussed backend listings and speculative remasters; a June 18 follow-up said Treyarch had announced PlayStation ports that include Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. That report described them as ports, not remasters, and said release timing and DLC details were not confirmed at publication. June 9 report; June 18 follow-up.
