This spoiler-forward checklist covers every Hollow Knight charm entry and where to get it. The game has 45 entries, but you can hold at most 40 at once: five entries are alternate states of another charm. How to use this checklist
Search by charm name, then check the region and requirement. Some charms are sold, while others are hidden pickups or rewards. Fragile charms can be upgraded, and two quest outcomes replace one charm with another. The acquisition notes below follow the community-maintained Steam charm guide, with corroborating overview details from the Hollow Knight Wiki.
The available location roster identifies 42 named entries, rather than all 45. It does not establish the remaining three locations, so they are not guessed or filled in here. The entries listed are useful for locating the documented charms; consult the in-game inventory and the linked full charm table to check your collection against the complete set.

Dirtmouth and Crossroads
- Wayward Compass — Buy from Iselda in Dirtmouth for 220 Geo.
- Gathering Swarm — Buy from Sly in Dirtmouth for 300 Geo.
- Stalwart Shell — Buy from Sly in Dirtmouth for 200 Geo.
- Shaman Stone — Buy from Salubra in Forgotten Crossroads for 220 Geo.
- Steady Body — Buy from Salubra in Forgotten Crossroads.
- Longnail — Buy from Salubra in Forgotten Crossroads.
- Glowing Womb — Find it to the right of the False Knight arena in Forgotten Crossroads.
- Quick Focus — Buy from Salubra in Forgotten Crossroads.
- Lifeblood Heart — Buy from Salubra in Forgotten Crossroads.
- Sprintmaster — Buy from Sly after acquiring the Shopkeeper’s Key.

- Grubsong — Grubfather gives it as a reward for freeing 10 grubs.
- Grubberfly’s Elegy — Grubfather gives it as a reward for freeing all 46 captured grubs.
Greenpath and Howling Cliffs
- Thorns of Agony — Find it in Greenpath’s thorn maze; the guide lists Mothwing Cloak as a requirement.
- Shape of Unn — Beneath Lake of Unn in Greenpath; requires Isma’s Tear.
- Baldur Shell — In southwest Howling Cliffs, reached by dropping through a chest.
- Joni’s Blessing — Find it at Joni’s Repose in Howling Cliffs.
Fungal Wastes and nearby areas
- Dashmaster — Near the Fungal Wastes entrance to Royal Waterways, south of Mantis Village.
- Fragile Heart — Buy from Leg Eater in Fungal Wastes; Divine can upgrade it to Unbreakable Heart.
- Fragile Greed — Buy from Leg Eater in Fungal Wastes; Divine can upgrade it to Unbreakable Greed.
- Fragile Strength — Buy from Leg Eater in Fungal Wastes; Divine can upgrade it to Unbreakable Strength.
- Mark of Pride — Chest in Mantis Village after defeating the Mantis Lords.
- Spore Shroom — In Fungal Wastes near the Deepnest entrance.
Resting Grounds, Crystal Peak, and Soul Sanctum
- Soul Catcher — Find it in the Ancestral Mound.
- Soul Eater — Find it in Resting Grounds; requires Desolate Dive.
- Dreamshield — Below the Seer’s room in Resting Grounds.
- Dream Wielder — Seer’s reward for collecting 500 essence.
- Spell Twister — In a secret room above Soul Sanctum, before the Soul Master.
- Deep Focus — On the west side of Crystal Peak.
Royal Waterways, Deepnest, the Hive, and Kingdom’s Edge
- Flukenest — Dropped by Flukemarm in Royal Waterways.
- Defender’s Crest — Dropped by Dung Defender in Royal Waterways.
- Weaversong — Find it in Weavers’ Den in Deepnest.
- Sharp Shadow — Southeast of the Deepnest hot spring; requires Shade Cloak.
- Quick Slash — In a hidden room in Kingdom’s Edge.
- Hiveblood — Dropped by Hive Knight in the Hive.
King’s Pass, the Colosseum, and quest rewards
- Fury of the Fallen — In a chest in King’s Pass.
- Nailmaster’s Glory — Sly gives it to you after you collect all three Nail Arts.
Grimm Troupe quest outcomes and transformations
- Grimmchild — Given by Troupe Master Grimm during the Grimm Troupe quest.
- Carefree Melody — Given by Nymm after listening to him in Dirtmouth on the banishment path; it replaces Grimmchild.
- Kingsoul — Assemble its halves: one comes from the White Lady in Queen’s Gardens, the other from the Pale King in White Palace.
- Void Heart — In a secret area at the bottom of the Abyss. The entrance opens with Kingsoul equipped; Void Heart replaces Kingsoul.
The three Fragile charms can each become an Unbreakable version through Divine. Grimmchild and Carefree Melody are alternate outcomes, while Void Heart replaces Kingsoul. These five replacements explain why the title’s 45 entries do not all fit in the inventory together. [Hollow Knight Wiki]

All Charm Notch locations
There are 11 Notches total: 3 at the start and 8 additional ones to find or earn. Salubra sells four; the other four are rewards or pickups in different areas. The Fog Canyon access requirement is reported differently by the references: the Wiki lists Isma’s Tear or Monarch Wings, while Nintendo Life lists Isma’s Tear or Shade Cloak. Check the route in-game rather than relying on one of those disputed gates.

Finding a missing charm efficiently
- Check the charm’s name in the list and note its region before backtracking.
- For a shop charm, visit the named vendor and check the prerequisite: Shopkeeper’s Key for Sly’s later stock, or the listed charm-collection threshold for Salubra’s Notches.
- For a reward, confirm the condition first: freed grubs, collected essence, learned Nail Arts, defeated a boss, or completed the specified trial.
- For a hidden pickup, use the named landmark and meet any listed ability requirement. Where no route is established here, do not assume a specific path.
- For an apparent missing alternate, check whether it has been replaced: Divine upgrades the Fragile states, banishment yields Carefree Melody instead of Grimmchild, and Void Heart supersedes Kingsoul.
