How to find each kind of Strangeling
Story rewards
Five Strangelings are chapter rewards. Progress through the main story rather than searching the map for these items:
- Chapter 2: Odd Dresser
- Chapter 3: Sturdy Wheelbarrow
- Chapter 4: Leafy Watering Can
- Chapter 5: Graceful Fan
- Chapter 6: Dragonslayer’s Sword
Shrines
Clear Shrines across Ginormosia for their Strangelings. The Glehd Shrine in the Pettlewing Woods dungeon is an easy one to miss because it is not marked on the map; look for Little Brother Bust there.

Fixed overworld finds
Explore the listed islands, caves, farming plot, and campfire area for objects placed in the world. These are fixed-location finds rather than random drops; use the checklist’s landmark descriptions to narrow the search.
Boss-tier drops
Crowned or boss-tier enemies can leave blue chests containing random Strangelings. The ten items in this pool are Cherry Wheat Juice, Corny Bottle, Easy-Going Shield, Fresh-Faced Helm, Pirate Princess Flag, Plushling Lady Doll, Secretive Mask, Sleepy Pillow, Snacky Pie, and Wholesome Yarn Basket. An older guide reports that after all ten random-drop Strangelings have been collected, later chests contain Celestia’s Gifts instead.

Settlement requests
Some rewards require three requests at a particular settlement or from a named NPC. Check the entry in the table for the exact village or requester; simply visiting the location is not enough.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why guide category totals can look like 50
The complete checklist contains 49 unique Strangelings, as reported by game guides; Game8’s guide search result says the count can also be confirmed in the in-game Encyclopedia. One older guide’s categories show five story entries, 20 Shrine entries, ten random drops, nine hidden finds, and six settlement rewards. Those subtotals add to 50 because Odd Dresser is both a Chapter 2 story reward and included in that guide’s Shrine tally. Do not treat the category figures as separate, non-overlapping sets.

The list above follows Ludo.guide’s spelling. Other guides use variants such as “Berated Target” instead of “Bereted Target,” and Shrine or region names can also be spelled differently. If a name does not match exactly, compare the Buddy and Life as well as the location.
Turn a Strangeling into a Buddy
Finding the object is only the first part of collecting its Buddy. Go to the Goddess Statue at Base Camp in the Present era and spend a Celestia’s Gift to revert the Strangeling. The guide reports that Celestia’s Gifts spawn at Base Camp once per day.
