The rankings below are editorial recommendations, not an official tier list or a claim that one Spirit is best in every encounter.
How to choose a Spirit
A Spirit has two useful parts: its activated transformation attack and its passive benefit while equipped. A powerful attack can be less useful if it is difficult to land; a modest attack may still be worthwhile if its passive supports your build. Compare Spirits by what their passive adds, how reliably their attack connects, what the encounter calls for, and whether the benefit fits your resources and play style.
- Passive: Does it improve defense, critical damage, poison, Focus, healing, or another priority?
- Activation: Is the attack quick, far-reaching, or broad enough to hit your target reliably?
- Encounter role: Are you looking for burst damage, stagger, damage over time, crowd control, or sustain?
- Build fit: Will the passive help your current setup enough to justify investing in the Spirit?
The consulted guides do not establish a universal upgrade order or verified upgrade costs. Check the current in-game description before spending materials, particularly if you are choosing between Spirits for different builds.
Best Spirits, ranked
1. Wandering Wight — best all-purpose pick
Wandering Wight is the clearest general recommendation across the consulted rankings. Gamer Guides and Dot Esports both put it first in their respective five-Spirit lists, citing its damaging headbutt, area coverage, and ability to stagger. Its defensive passive adds value even when you are not activating the attack. PowerPyx reports the passive as +20 Defense in its guide; treat that as a guide-reported figure, not an independently verified current stat.

Choose it when you want a mix of survivability and a high-impact attack, especially against a fast enemy that can be interrupted. It is a strong default, not a mandatory choice for every build or boss.
2. Tiger’s Acolyte — critical damage and a quick punish
Tiger’s Acolyte closes distance with a fast approach and a single sword strike, according to Gamer Guides. Its critical-damage passive makes it a natural alternative for an aggressive build that already invests in critical hits. Dot Esports reports a flat 6% Critical Strike Damage passive; that number is specific to its guide and should not be treated as a universally confirmed current value.

Consider it when a fast punish and critical-damage synergy matter more to you than Wandering Wight’s defensive benefit. Its placement is about fit, not proof that it outperforms Wandering Wight for every player.
3. Guangmou — poison damage over time
Guangmou summons venom-spitting snakes and offers poison damage and resistance, as described by Gamer Guides. That makes it a matchup and build choice for players leaning into poison or looking for sustained damage against a high-health target. Its usefulness depends on the enemy’s susceptibility and how well poison fits your setup.

4. Earth Wolf — Focus for heavy-attack builds
Earth Wolf charges into enemies, while its passive grants a small amount of additional Focus on hit, according to Gamer Guides. The passive is the main reason to choose it: it can suit a play style that wants to build Focus more quickly for heavy attacks. Its rank here reflects that narrower role, not a universal comparison of active-skill damage.
5. Verdant Glow — gradual healing and sustain
Gamer Guides describes Verdant Glow’s activation as healing over time, with more healing in water, and its passive as slowly restoring a small amount of health. It can suit players who dodge reliably and want extra sustain. Gradual healing is not an emergency heal, so it may not help when you need an immediate recovery.

Dot Esports also ranks Misty Cloud, Cloudy Mist, Gore-Eye Daoist, and Commander Beetle. Its descriptions make them alternatives for players prioritizing particular attacks or resource effects rather than a single all-purpose ranking.
- Misty Cloud and Cloudy Mist: The guide describes a two-part attack and a reduced Cloud Step mana cost.
- Gore-Eye Daoist: The guide highlights a damaging staff aura and additional Mana.
- Commander Beetle: The guide describes fast damage, stagger potential, and an area sweep.
These are guide-reported descriptions, not a universal ranking for every build. Read the current in-game Spirit description to confirm effects and values before choosing or upgrading one.

How to collect Spirits, including missed ones
PowerPyx says you need the Blessed Gourd to absorb Spirits. Its guide also says missed Spirits can be collected at a Keeper’s Shrine, including boss Spirits defeated before you obtained the Gourd. It warns that the Wandering Wight enemy disappears after the secret Chapter 1 boss, but says its Spirit can still be retrieved if you defeated the enemy before acquiring the Gourd. Why these rankings are not a universal tier list
Gamer Guides and Dot Esports are making editorial choices about which Spirits to recommend; their lists are not an official game ranking. They emphasize different benefits, and your best option can change with your build, target, and preference for active attacks versus passive bonuses. The ranking sources date to 2024, with Gamer Guides listing a 2025 update. Because balance and in-game descriptions can change, confirm exact effects in your current game version.
