Yellow Loong is an optional Chapter 4 boss in Webbed Hollow, but he will not appear until you have the Loong Scales and have defeated Red Loong, Black Loong, and Cyan Loong. Once those conditions are met, reach the Relief of the Fallen Loong shrine and prepare for fast spear combos that deal shock damage.
Unlock Yellow Loong first
The Loong Scales are required to access the hidden Loong encounters, but having them alone is not enough to make Yellow Loong appear. Defeat the other three Loongs first:

Yellow Loong is the fourth encounter in the chain. The Loong Scales are obtained in Chapter 2 and can be reused at each location; the item is not consumed. Travel to Cliff of Oblivion in Chapter 4’s Webbed Hollow. The route to the hidden arena crosses a narrow beam beside slashing spider cocoons; Cloud Step can help you get past them.

- From Cliff of Oblivion, follow the path down the broken hand.
- Continue until the route allows you to drop left toward a hanging bridge.
- Cross the bridge to the narrow wooden beam.
- Use Cloud Step to pass the slashing spider cocoons and cross the beam.
- At the far end, activate Relief of the Fallen Loong. Yellow Loong appears to the right of the shrine.
If you reach the shrine and the boss is absent, check that you have the Loong Scales and have defeated all three earlier Loongs. PowerPyx’s boss guide also outlines the route and unlock conditions.
How to survive Yellow Loong’s attacks
Yellow Loong fights with a spear and deals shock damage. His fast, multi-hit combinations are the main danger: the final strike includes a small blast, and two or three hits can kill an unprepared character. Prioritize avoiding the full combo, especially its ending, instead of trading blows.

- Watch for the end of a spear sequence and keep enough space to evade the final hit and blast.
- Heal after taking damage rather than entering the next exchange at low health.
- Use spells early if you want to front-load damage. PowerPyx describes the encounter as having one phase and suggests opening with Immobilize, the Wandering Wight spirit attack, and Pluck of Many, then using the Umbral Abyss transformation and alternating Cloud Step with Immobilize as they become available. This is one guide’s suggested sequence, not a required or universally optimal build.
When to come back later
There is no established minimum level or quantified readiness threshold for this fight. If Yellow Loong’s combos remain difficult to survive, PowerPyx suggests returning with Chapter 6 equipment; even then, a single combo can still be lethal. The Supreme Gourd, obtained during Chapter 5, has ten healing charges and may also help with recovery.
