Their value comes from the granted skill, Spirit, and modifiers that suit your build. The bases and uniques below are documented examples, not a guaranteed complete live roster; item data can change with patches.
What sceptres do in Path of Exile 2
PoE2DB describes sceptres as one-handed items that require Strength and Intelligence. They can be equipped in the main hand or off hand, but cannot be dual-wielded. A sceptre cannot be used to attack and does not grant spellcasting bonuses. Instead, it provides Spirit and can benefit allies. Spirit supports skills with persistent effects, and the amount available can differ between weapon sets. PoE2DB’s sceptre reference describes the item class and its bases.
When choosing one, compare the granted skill, base requirements, Spirit, and modifiers that help the allies your build uses. For a rare sceptre, also consider whether its item level is high enough for the modifier tier you want.
Documented sceptre bases
The accessible PoE2DB list includes these base examples. Several entries show 100 base Spirit, but requirements and granted skills vary by base.

Unique sceptre examples
PoE2DB lists eight unique sceptres. These examples illustrate how a unique’s granted skill and effects can matter more than its base name; check the current item entry for exact values before using one as a build recommendation.

- Sacred Flame (Shrine Sceptre): requires level 55, grants Purity of Fire, and has listed effects that provide extra Fire damage and regeneration for nearby allies.
- Guiding Palm (Shrine Sceptre) variants: level 65 variants grant different Purity skills and have different elemental effects for allies.
- Palm of the Dreamer: grants Impurity and has Chaos damage and shrine effects.
The available examples do not establish the other unique names or a complete current unique roster. See PoE2DB’s unique sceptre entries for its listed uniques.
Rare sceptre modifiers and item level
Reveal’s sceptre modifier reference lists prefixes that increase Spirit, including Spirit-only and Spirit-plus-Mana variants. It also lists ally damage prefixes and suffixes for ally attack speed, cast speed, critical damage bonus, and critical-hit chance. Modifier tiers depend on item level, and ranges can change with patches.

For example, the reference’s displayed Spirit-only prefix tiers run from 20–26% at the lowest tier shown to 61–65% at the highest shown; that top tier lists item level 82. These are values from that reference, not a promise that every sceptre can roll the tier or that the figures remain unchanged after a patch.
How to compare sceptres for a build
- Check the base requirements. Confirm the Strength, Intelligence, and level requirements suit the character that will equip it.
- Read the granted skill. Make sure it supports the build’s intended persistent effects or ally setup; a familiar base name alone does not establish that it is the right choice.
- Compare Spirit. Include the base contribution and any rolled Spirit modifiers, and account for which weapon set is active.
- Match ally bonuses to the build. Ally damage, attack speed, cast speed, critical damage, and critical-hit chance are useful only when they benefit the allies your build relies on.
- Check item-level eligibility. If you are seeking a particular rare modifier tier, compare the sceptre’s item level with the tier threshold in a current modifier reference.
How complete is this list?
The entries here are a practical selection of documented bases and unique examples, not a verified exhaustive list for the current patch. Game8’s search result advertises a full sceptre list and shows an update date of January 19, 2026, but the page could not be accessed for verification. The accessible PoE2DB entries provide substantial base, unique, and modifier detail, yet do not confirm an exhaustive current roster. Item data is patch-sensitive, so use the live database when completeness or exact values matter. Game8’s Path of Exile 2 archive is the page associated with that search result.
