Umbral Monument is a permanent challenge mode in Arknights: Endfield, not a limited-time event. The official team says certain stages had their difficulty reduced and that players can bring tacticals into stages in Normal Mode. Separate, time-limited Monumental Etching events have accompanied selected stage releases, but their event windows do not define how long Umbral Monument itself is available.
How Umbral Monument works
Gryphline’s release-preview notes describe Umbral Monument as a permanent game mode and say that some stages were made easier. They also specify that tacticals can be brought into stages when challenging in Normal Mode. That qualification matters: the notes do not establish tactical availability in every difficulty.
The official notes provide the broad structure, not a complete gameplay manual. They do not spell out current unlock requirements, every stage objective, all difficulty rules, or a complete current reward table. Check the Umbral Monument screen in the game client for the rules and rewards attached to the stages currently available to you.
Gryphline’s official release-preview communication states that the mode “has been adjusted to a permanent game mode, and the difficulty of certain stages has been reduced.” It also says, “You can now bring tacticals into the stage when challenging it in Normal Mode.”

Monumental Etching is a separate, limited-time event associated with clearing selected Umbral Monument challenges. In the release-preview notes, the team said the event would launch alongside the stages and award full Oroberyl rewards for clearing corresponding stages in Normal Mode during the event. The mode’s permanent status and an event’s limited window are therefore different things.
Event dates below are historical, not a guide to what is currently active. Use the in-game event and mode screens to check present availability.

Official update notes document the mode expanding through named stage series. The dates and counts below are what those updates announced; they do not confirm which series are currently available.

What to check before starting
- Open Umbral Monument in the game client to see which series and stages are currently available to your account.
- Read each stage’s displayed objective and difficulty rules; the official summaries do not provide a full list of mechanics or unlock conditions.
- For Normal Mode, the official notes establish that tacticals can be brought into stages. Do not assume the same rule applies to other difficulties.
- Check the event screen separately for any active Monumental Etching period and its reward conditions. Historical event dates do not indicate a current event.
