The free update added a coastal map, a new Arc enemy, Beachcombing loot searches, mobility gear, a limited-time event and a five-stage Raider Project.
When did Riven Tides launch?
Embark announced Riven Tides on April 27, 2026, and Nexon said the update was implemented on April 28, 2026. The launch date is historical; the update is not a new release as of October 7, 2026. Embark’s launch announcement and Nexon’s April 28 announcement document the rollout.
What did the Riven Tides update add?
A new coastal map
Riven Tides places Raiders on the western coast of the Rust Belt, among abandoned shoreline locations. The announcement highlights the Exodus port and the Panorama Azzurro hotel as places to explore.
Beachcombing loot searches
Beachcombing is a minor map condition exclusive to Riven Tides. When it is active, Raiders can find the Dockmaster’s Detector and sweep the sand for buried loot. The richest search areas are exposed, so pursuing better finds can make a Raider easier to spot and attack.

Arc Turbine and fall-mitigation gear
The update introduced the Arc Turbine, a new enemy that moves between the air and ground, plus two items intended to mitigate falls: the Crash Mat and Powered Descender. The Turbine’s rooftop and tower perches, attacks that can reach Raiders behind cover, and motion-detection mines make it dangerous to approach carelessly.
Last Resort and Avian Alarm
Last Resort was a time-limited event that ran through May 25, 2026. Players earned Merits from XP on any map, with hidden Miniature Ship Models providing bonus Merits based on rarity. Its rewards included cosmetics, emotes and 250 Raider Tokens total.

Avian Alarm was a separate five-stage Raider Project. Players placed cages at coastal buoys to catch birds and create a makeshift security system. Its stated rewards included the Dockmaster’s Detector, Gel Patches, a Bird House backpack attachment, an emote and 250 Raider Tokens total.
How should you fight the Arc Turbine?
In an Xbox Wire guide published May 1, 2026, Embark Senior Game Designer David Spinnier recommends choosing open ground rather than relying on cover or rushing the enemy. The Turbine’s electrically charged attacks can reach Raiders using cover, while its motion-detection mines punish close approaches.

- Jump into the pilot seat. Pilot your ship, the Trailblazer, as you engage in thrilling dogfights with the Empire and other foes. Find the right opportunities to chase, evade, and attack to get the upper hand.
- Choose the engagement area. Try to draw or meet the Turbine in the open, where you can see its movement and avoid getting trapped near a perch or obstacle. Spinnier’s advice: “Pick your spot. It’s safer to fight it in the open.”
- Approach slowly. The Turbine moves between air and ground and often perches on rooftops and towers. Watch its position, plan a route, and do not rush into mine range. Spinnier cautions: “Plan your approach carefully and move slowly as you get closer – I wouldn’t recommend trying to hitch a ride on it!”
- Coordinate attacks. Its attacks and mobility make a rushed solo close-range approach risky. Coordinate with teammates and look for openings rather than assuming cover will protect you.
- Bring traversal gear and Adrenaline Shots. The developer guide recommends both so you can move through the encounter and respond to danger. Its packing advice is: “Prepare for anything – pack traversal gear and Adrenaline Shots”.

What else changed in patch 1.26.0?
The official version 1.26.0 patch notes include weapon-durability adjustments alongside gameplay fixes. They say average durability on spawned weapons changed from 50 to 30, while durability loss when a player is knocked out changed from 30% to 15%. The notes also list rarity-specific durability-loss changes.
The patch notes listed the “Off The Radar” quest as unable to be completed on Riven Tides. That was a known-issue notice at the time of version 1.26.0; the published notice does not establish whether the issue was subsequently fixed.

Nexon’s April 28 announcement said applications for the third Expedition opened that day and were scheduled to close May 11, 2026, at 16:00. The announcement does not specify a timezone. The Expedition allowed players to reset progress: level, skills and inventory reset, with rewards and benefits offered in return. This was a separate progression system, not the same activity as Last Resort or Avian Alarm.

Is Riven Tides a free update?
Xbox Wire described Riven Tides as the sixth free content update since ARC Raiders launched and the fourth update in the Escalation roadmap. Its page lists a purchase option for the base game separately from the update; the update itself is presented as free content for the game.
