Here are all 32 Animality inputs listed for Mortal Kombat 1, with PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch controls. The inputs assume your fighter is on the left, facing right; if you are on the right, reverse Back and Forward. Animalities are included in a free update for all owners of the game—Khaos Reigns is not required.
How to use the Animality inputs
- Choose the column for your controller: PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch.
- Directions are relative to your opponent. The listed codes assume you are on the left and facing right; on the right side, swap Back and Forward.
- Button labels differ by platform. PlayStation uses Square, Triangle, Circle, X, and R2; Xbox uses X, Y, B, A, and RT; Switch uses Y, X, A, B, and ZR.

Do you need Khaos Reigns to use Animalities?
No. Warner Bros. Games’ Mortal Kombat 1 FAQ says the expansion is not required: Animalities are a free content update for all owners of the base game. Warner Bros. Games also described the feature as part of the free update released September 24, 2024, alongside the digital launch of the Khaos Reigns expansion in its launch announcement; the September update notes likewise identify Animalities as part of that free update. The FAQ says the main game is available physically, while the expansion is digital-only.
