1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIn Resident Evil Requiem, Grace spends Antique Coins at the Rhodes Hill Care Center Parlor on upgrades. On Casual or Normal, follow the room-by-room route below; on Insanity, use the separate route because both coin placements and shop stock change. The guides disagree on the standard-mode total, so this walkthrough identifies each reported pickup and separates Chunk’s conditional repeat reward from ordinary first-visit finds.
How to unlock the Parlor
- Go to the Chairman’s Office and pick up the Unicorn Trinket Box.
- Examine the box and take the Red Jewel.
- Return to the Parlor door and place the jewel in its indentation. Once open, Grace can spend coins on the upgrades listed below.
GameSpot’s guide describes the unlock and early upgrades; PCGamesN’s guide also places the Parlor in the Rhodes Hill Care Center.
Standard difficulty: reported Antique Coin locations
Use this as a room-by-room checklist for Casual or Normal, not as proof of one universally agreed total. PCGamesN reports 25 coins on those difficulties, including four conditional coins from Chunk after the charm reward has already been obtained. Push Square reports 21 in Rhodes Hill, while VGC’s list is labeled as 18 locations. Those guide totals are not reconciled, and their room descriptions do not always match exactly.
Guard Office, Nurse Station, and West Wing
- Guard Office: On the computer desk beside the item box.
- Nurse Station: On top of a locker.
- West Wing hallway: On the cabinet between the Filing Room and Cold Storage.
Bar & Lounge and Parlor
- Bar & Lounge: One coin is on the piano, one is dropped by the Singer, and three are inside the safe behind the bar. PCGamesN gives the Casual/Normal combination as left (counterclockwise) to 10, right (clockwise) to 80, then left (counterclockwise) to 30.
- Parlor: Coins are reported on the roulette or blackjack table and around the bar. GameSpot specifies one on the roulette table and two on the bar counter, with one revealed by breaking a crate; PCGamesN describes three coins in the room. Search the tables, counter, and crate rather than relying on a single count description.
Examination Room and Waiting Room
- Examination Room: Three coins are in the safe. PCGamesN gives the combination as right (clockwise) to 30, left (counterclockwise) to 10, then right (clockwise) to 50.
- Waiting Room: One coin is on a table and two are in the already-open safe behind the desk.
East Wing, Conference Room, and Courtyard
- East Wing stairwell: One coin is on a table between the sofas at the bottom of the stairs leading to the Lead Researcher’s Office. Push Square also reports a nearby coin in a vase, one reason room-by-room counts differ.
- Conference Room: One coin is on a table or counter near the entrance; another is dropped by the Singer.
- Courtyard: After opening the door with the Quartz items, look on a chair for a coin. VGC places it near the point of no return from the Care Center.
Chunk: a conditional reward, not a normal first-visit pickup
PCGamesN and GameSpot describe four coins from Chunk after the Eye Spy charm reward has already been obtained. GameSpot’s sequence is to kill Chunk for the charm first, then kill Chunk again on a subsequent opportunity for the coins. Count these as a conditional repeat/reload reward, not coins guaranteed by the ordinary first encounter.

Standard Parlor rewards and costs
| Upgrade | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Hip Pouch | 3 coins | Increases inventory space. |
| Stabilizer | 4 coins | Improves gun handling and firepower. |
| Steroids | 4 coins | Increases maximum health. |
| Override Manual | 6 coins | Increases Blood Collector capacity by 50 units. |
| All four | 17 coins | — |
VGC identifies the Override Manual as useful for certain Blood Collector crafting, and recommends the Hip Pouch as an early inventory upgrade. There is no single purchase order established by the guides: prioritize the limitation affecting your run. More inventory space helps carry supplies, Steroids raise health capacity, the Stabilizer improves combat performance, and the Manual expands crafting capacity.
Insanity mode: different route and shop
Do not use the Casual/Normal route as an Insanity map. PCGamesN reports 19 locations as enough for the alternate rewards, while noting that additional coins might exist. VGC confirms the alternate shop inventory. PCGamesN’s Insanity location route includes:
Rank #2
- Street, at the start of Grace’s section: one coin.
- Wrenwood Hotel reception: one coin in the reception desk.
- Kitchen: two coins dropped by the chef and one in the scales.
- West Wing: one dropped by the light-sensitive zombie.
- Restroom: one dropped by the maid.
- Records: one dropped by the patient.
- Bar & Lounge: three coins in the safe. PCGamesN gives the Insanity combination as 20 counterclockwise, 50 clockwise, then 30 counterclockwise.
- Examination Room: one dropped by the surgeon.
- Later East Wing and Waiting Room areas, Lead Researcher’s Office, and Courtyard: further coins are listed along this route; the guide summaries do not give a single matching room-by-room count for all of these areas.
VGC independently notes that Insanity involves enemy drops, special containers, and changed safe codes, but its abbreviated room list differs in some details. Follow the clues and placements for the difficulty you are currently playing.
Insanity Parlor stock
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| Hip Pouch | 3 coins |
| Handgun Ammo (30) | 5 coins |
| R.I.P. Knife | 5 coins |
| Override Manual | 6 coins |
The Insanity shop has a different mix from the standard four-upgrade stock: it offers ammunition and the R.I.P. Knife, rather than the standard-mode Stabilizer and Steroids.

Why published coin totals differ
PCGamesN reports 25 Casual/Normal coins and includes Chunk’s four coins after the charm reward; Push Square reports 21 in Rhodes Hill; VGC labels its standard list as 18 locations. GameSpot covers a different subset and details the Chunk sequence. The guides do not explicitly reconcile these totals. Differences may relate to guide coverage, optional pickups, run conditions, or whether the repeat/reload boss reward is counted, but the published sources do not establish which explanation accounts for each discrepancy. Treat the room checklist and conditional reward separately rather than assuming every total uses the same counting rules.
