Oddities in Where Winds Meet are regional collectibles that require different interactions rather than a single pickup action. Find their nearby indicators, use Wind Sense to read environmental clues, complete each Oddity’s collection behavior, then submit Qinghe Oddities to Qi Sheng or Kaifeng Oddities to Bai Ji to advance the corresponding Melodies of Peace progression.
How Oddities work
Oddities are found in the overworld, and the collection action depends on the type. A target may be hidden in breakable objects, flee when approached, sit above ground level, or require a ranged action before it can be picked up. Nearby minimap indicators can point you toward one; Wind Sense can help reveal clues when the target is hard to see. The cited guides describe region-matched turn-ins as a way to progress through Melodies of Peace, with rewards that include attribute increases and broader progression unlocks. How to collect the Qinghe Oddities
Dagger General
Break nearby rocks, jars, or boxes to uncover the cricket, then interact with it quickly. A single pile can reveal several, so be ready to collect more than one.
Enchanting Lotus
Use Wind Sense to follow the purple trails to butterfly targets. Clear the butterflies with arrows; once the miasma clears, collect the flower.

Where to turn in Oddities and what they unlock
Oddities count toward the Melodies of Peace progression for their region. All Things How identifies Qi Sheng as the Qinghe collector and Bai Ji as the Kaifeng collector. The cited guides describe benefits including attributes, movement skills, and other progression unlocks; consult the in-game Melodies of Peace nodes to see the available rewards and your current progress.
A practical search routine
- Work through one region or Boundary Stone area at a time rather than scattering your search.
- When an Oddity indicator appears, check above, below, and behind your character, as well as around destructible piles.
- Use Wind Sense to reveal environmental clues, especially when the target itself is difficult to spot.
- Read the scene and complete the type-specific action: an object may conceal a creature, a creature may flee, or a target may need to be reached from above or hit at range.
- After collecting a regional Oddity, submit it to that region’s collector to progress its Melodies of Peace nodes.
These are guide-based search tactics, not independently tested routes or guaranteed steps for every spawn.
How many Oddity locations are there?
The third-party Where Winds Meet Guide, Map & Wiki interactive map displayed 161 Qinghe listings and 275 Kaifeng listings, 436 combined, when accessed in 2026. Those figures count locations shown on that map; they are not a confirmed official in-game total. Use the map as a locator, not as proof that it represents every Oddity currently available in the game.
